What did you do as an intern/company? What have you seen done?

Do you mean like what special things did my employer do as a part of my internship or whether I participated in any local social gatherings for young engineers? Trying to think of ideas for firing up an intern program at your current employer?

No, more like brainstorming for an event for the current program that's outside the cookie cutter baseball or bowling event.

i think they took us to ride go-karts somewhere. i skipped that one. i had a "team building" trip to king's dominion, but that was everyone, not just the interns.

So you mean like HR "Employee Appreciation Week" type stuff?I worked for a place that had these guys come out one day: http://www.thegamepatroltriangle.com/Actually I think it might have been a different company at the time but same concept.

As an intern they took everyone to a Hurricanes gameAs a regular employee I have done the following "team building" events in the Raleigh area (as my business unit is based out of NC so we have a big meeting there every fall)- Kings of Leon concert- Bowling, karaoke, etc at that place in North Hills. We had like 100 people so it was perfect & everyone had fun even if they just watched other people play the games- cooking "class" at Irregardless Cafe

I interned with the Spanish department the summer after junior year. It was a thankless job and the pay was shit, but it was something to do during the day and kept my parents off my back. One afternoon, after yet another long morning spent cataloging text books, the department head decided to reward us by going to see Iron Man 2 at North Hills, and the manager did a trivia thing for prizes before the show. He asked which suit was the one with the triangle on it, and I answered Mark VI. He said this was wrong, and he called on someone else who said that the answer was the Mark IV. I was like WTF, I've been reading about this for almost 6 months now. The next day I went to Target and bought the Mark VI suit of the "Hall of Armor" toys which comes with the light up base and took it back to the theater. I politely introduced myself and explained that I felt like the answer last night was incorrect, so I showed the package to the manager who then claimed that the toy was wrong. Um... OK, so Marvel is gonna let Hasbro make millions of dollars of these toys and other merchandise and they're all labeled wrong? I then pulled out my phone and went to the Wikipedia page about it and showed him what it says about each of the suits in this movie and he claimed that it wasn't a credible source. So then I went to find production images and showed him the same image which is on page 1 of this thread and pointed out that the Mark IV in the background still has the circular chestpiece. He claimed that since he had read the answer in a Marvel encyclopedia that he was correct and I was wrong. Ugh. If there wasn't a prize involved in this (which was free movie passes), I'd be content to let him continue to be wrong, but noooooooooooooo. Now I just can't let it go. LOL.

Nothing. They had an annual district meeting at the beach every year, it was 4-5 days. I didn't go and just took the week off. That was really the only thing they ever offered me. It was a really small office though (maybe 15 employees) and they didn't do much "team-building" stuff really.
