I reckon this part of the forum wants and needs this topic. From my street racing background I bet ya'll mugs figured i'd be more of a Fast and the Furious type but nah...I'm Days of Thunder all day every day mane...Look, i'm not trying to insult you, alls i'm saying is stock cars are built to run equal. Isn't that right?Cole Trickle is ill, yadig?

Perhaps you're correct but MEHI'd prefer to discuss the movie directly...not just racing in general. And this is the place to talk Days of Thunder directly. These mugs know their NASCAR and they know their stock cars.

actually the place to talk about movies is the entertainment sub forum. good luck

Hit the pace car! What?Yeah, hit the pace car! You have hit everything else on this damn track, you might as well hit that too.BTW, was anything in that move actually true to how people race in NASCAR?[Edited on May 11, 2012 at 11:56 AM. Reason : r]

nomy favorite is how they'll grab a gear and floor it to go catch up with another car. and beating and banging like a demolition derby at daytona. total bullshit. i still love the movie, though.

its better than trying to run over quarters on a track
5/12/2012 12:13:02 PM
What about the major plot device of going high to pass? Is that a legitimate "no no" in NASCAR?
5/12/2012 2:55:05 PM
no, folks get passed on the outside all the time, especially at daytona, which is the big race at the end of the movie.
