I think Slaughterhouse-Five may be one of the greatest pieces of literature to grace the modern world - so much so, that one may become disillusioned with their own reality upon reading it.

Have you read "While Mortals Sleep" yet? It was released this year and is pretty much all short stories that he never published from later on. It's maybe my favorite short story collection and has some great stuff.

Also it has a foreword by Dave Eggers who is basically Vonnegut's spiritual successor.

I'll respect Eggers but let's be honest - there is no successor to Kurt. Though, really, that goes without saying.

I'll look into the short stories this summer. That, and Tribes Ascend - yadig?

I'm pretty sure Kurt nighted him or something, and yes, Tribes Ascend.

So, next weekend or the following week we'll have to meet up and we can discuss recent literature, film, and reminisce on the adventures, loves, and stresses of our childhood.

But most importantly, I'm going to request you assistance in getting my new desktop. These things are inherently more easily done in person.

Did you ever get Borderlands 2? I passed on it, mostly for money reasons.

Yes. I semi-regret it. It lost it's luster after a few days.

Been playing the old X-Com (and Terror From the Deep) to make up for it though.

I did get Dishonored which I really liked, enough that I'm playing through it again.

I never played X-Com but try to convince myself it would be something I'd like.

OH SHE DEAD. That is perfect.

How is X-COM's multiplayer?

There's a new book out of all Kurt Vonnegut's letters (...called "Letters") and it looks amazing. It ranges from personal letters to friends to letters to school boards that banned his books to some essays, I think.

Nah let's talk about something else.

I'm still trying to lose the weight I gained from Chubby's Tacos.

Shut the fuck up you are a well-oiled killing machine.

I've been on a keto diet for the past three months and recently crossed the 30lb lose mark. Don't look all that much different honestly, since I've got a lot to lose, but hey it's a good start.

It uh, involves not eating Chubby's though.

Well I was mostly joking.

Mostly. /newt

I'd imagine a diet would entail avoiding a place called "Chubby's".

But seriously speaking, I'm infinitely glad to hear that. I can provide positive reinforcement at request. GrayFox 2013 swimsuit calendar, perhaps.

No. My obsession came and went quickly, as they all do.

I'm moving away from digital media and getting back into books (if you've heard of such things).

Trying to have my worldview (and thus - by extension - my personality) challenged and altered here, so recommendations are welcome.

Though I don't really know your tastes besides da Kurt.
