I don't really feel like making a thread for every trailer I have snarky comments about so here's one where we can post trailers and hate or praise them. I'll start things off with Magic Mike aka the Channing Tatum Stripper movie that is somehow directed by Steven Soderbergh:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMU7s6cwxEM

so did they raid Channing Tatum's back catalog of films for old wardrobe costumes? I saw GI-Joe, 21 Jump Street, and Step Up in the first half minute.

I have yet to see Channing Tatum actually act.

soderbergh = magic, but this trailer is underwhelming

Early contender for the worst movie of 2012:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZ1bI4K1VqQ

^^^ I thought Channing Tatum was actually pretty good in A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints. But I don't think he's been in much else that has really utilized him well.He kind of reminds of Vin Diesel in that he may actually have some acting talent (or at least range), but people keep putting him in the same dumb roles.[Edited on April 20, 2012 at 3:19 PM. The trailer for John Hillcoat's prohibition drama Lawless starring Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce and Slave Famous's man-crush Shia LaBeouf:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csLbNO5cYSM

Looks like a solid matinee.
4/25/2012 8:03:28 PM
I'm worried Shia LeBeouf will ruin that for me. Tom Hardy and Gary Oldman will disappear into their characters, Guy Pearce will be fine, but Shia LeBeouf will just be Shia LeBeouf in a costume.

The Knocked Up sequel nobody asked for:http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=KUfu8IIC14I

The trailer for Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby just came out:http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/wb/thegreatgatsby/
5/22/2012 8:55:42 PM
I'm on the fence, but leaning slightly towards the "uh oh" side
5/22/2012 9:12:39 PM
I like the casting, and it's a feast for the eyes, but Baz Luhrmann was a terrible choice to adapt a novel with an already obvious subtext.

this is so fucking great:
5/25/2012 6:31:34 PM
yeah that Gatsby trailer was pretty awful
5/25/2012 10:40:06 PM
The Great Gatsby has a Kanye song in it.That's all I have to say about that.Except that it also has Amitabh Bachchan. What the fuck is happening?]
5/25/2012 11:10:36 PM
Wow, The Great Gatsby looks absolutely terrible.

book marking this post for goddamn Tyler Perry
5/31/2012 3:04:21 PM
I hadn't heard anything about this movie beforehand, but this is a damn good trailer for an action/sci-fi movie:http://www.deadline.com/2012/06/hot-bandito-brothers-teaser-the-prototype/
6/21/2012 7:45:13 PM
it's finally here! LOL
6/26/2012 12:28:39 PM
TYLER FUCKING PERRY? What in the hell...
6/26/2012 3:55:43 PM
no trailer but there is a new Child's Play movie:http://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2012/06/new-childs-play-installment-curse-of-chucky-underw.html

ditching Idris Elba (a guy with proven chops, well before the movies listed in that quote) for Tyler Perry for this is one of the dumbest moves I've heard of.Has Tyler Perry even been in a non-tyler perry movie that was worth a damn? And as a lead? Tyler Perry is good at what he does, I won't take that from him. But this is not what he does. It was tough to watch the trailer and not be bias, but he was very unconvincing imo.
6/27/2012 4:32:36 PM
Tyler Perry was in Star Trek. And apparently he's making a Sci-Fi movie because he didn't like Prometheus.
6/27/2012 4:43:33 PM
^ haha, let me rephrase. Has he had more than a cameo in a non-tyler perry movie that was worth a damn or more than 45 seconds of screen time and two lines? In the preview, it just looked like Tyler Perry presents Tyler Perry searching for a killer. Idris Elba probably would have played an actual character.
6/27/2012 5:51:58 PM
Tyler Perry's continued popularity amazes me. Of the half dozen or so black folks I communicate with on a regular basis, they all despise him.
6/27/2012 5:58:19 PM
I heard something about this a while ago and didn't believe it would ever actually exist:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7l3okIqnCgA kung-fu movie from RZA and Eli Roth starring Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu, Pam Grier and the hot asian chick from Real World: San Diego...looks ridiculous and awesome.
