For Sale: Alienware Aurora m9700 Gaming LaptopThis is the last gaming laptop built and produced entirely by Alienware before they were acquired by Dell. It is still considered to be one of the best gaming laptops of all time. This laptop's build date is 07/04/2006. My original purchase price: $2800.00I haven't used it much in the last year or two so I am finally re-homing it to someone who will get the proper use out of it. All specifications are listed as detailed by the original invoice as well as what the system states in software diagnostics. 17" Widescreen WXGA LCD, 1440x900 w/ 1.3MP webcam built inAlienware NVIDIA Mobile SLi ChipsetAMD Turion 64 Mobile 1.8GHZ Processor2GB Dual Channel PC3200 SODIMM AW65 memory (was purchased with 1GB, I added another 1GB)Internal MINI-PCI TV Tuner2 x SEAGATE 120GB 5400RPM SATA HD8X DVD+/- RW Optical DriveDual 256MB NVidia GeForce Go 7900 GS, SLI Enabled Video CardsInternal 802.11 B/G MINI PCI Netwoork CardInternal High-Def audio with surround soundFull size keyboard with numberpadOriginal Alienware Owner's Manual, Documentation, Owner's Card and document folderThis thing is still in great shape and still run's like a beast. There are only a couple small cons:1. The battery is dead, if you unplug the powercord it will turn off. You can get a replacement battery directly from Alienware, or anywhere online, for $120. It didn't really matter to me because I always had it plugged in.2. One of the screen hinges has started to mess-up in the plastic and you have to pay attention when closing the screen or it will sometimes start to press out. Sounds worse than it is, and anyone who knows enough to mess with it could probably fix it easily. You can still open and close it as long as you pay attention no problem and I kept it open 24/7 on my desk anyway so didn't affect my use of it.3. One of the internal cooling fans has stopped spinning, if you don't put it on a cooling pad it can overheat after some time. I have a USB powered cooling fan you can have with the laptop if you want it, as long as it was on that it never overheated for me. You can get a replacement OEM fan on eBay for $15 but I didn't want to mess with replacing it.I figured I would offer it up here to see if any State students were interested before I put it on eBay.I am starting it at $800, I will discuss reasonable offers and may also be open to any interesting trades. If you have any questions just let me know!

I appreciate the feedback you guys. When Aurora m9700's happen to come up for sale, they are typically in this range on eBay, you can buy them bare-bones missing many key parts for $300-$400 if you're lucky on eBay, maybe that is more in your guy's ball park?$800 is simply where I am starting like I said, anyone is welcome to discuss anything lower like I said, just giving fellow State'ers a shot at it first

if you sell this to someone at NC State for 800 bucks you should be punched in the face for ripping off a "fellow state'er"

Ok, in the interest of helping people who don't understand 'starting price', I will bring it down to $500 to start. Anyone interested in talking about the laptop or asking any questions and not just commenting feel free to PM me! Those who have messaged me with interest I have responded to all PMs!

Electronics are poor investments as they are easily outdated and thus do not hold value very well. Actually, electronics have the worst resale value, believe it or not...
