on a regular basis? I usually have one beer at night sometimes two, mostly homebrew. Sometimes I wonder if I should take a month off from drinking beer to, you know, dry up or if drinking beer that regularly wasn't a big deal. Thoughts? Opinions?

~3 cases a week. unless i switch to liquor or wine. but i drink lite beer mostly. if i was drinking a full beer itd around 4, 12-packs
4/12/2012 9:45:44 AM
I don't drink beer anymore (trying to lose weight)... I might cheat this weekend at the beer festival though.
4/12/2012 9:46:09 AM
It fluctuates with me. I might go five days without having a drop and then put down 10-15 2-3 days in a row (if its a weekend). So I guess if I had to average it all out, 1-2 per day. I'll say that I rarely drink at home though. I almost never buy beer to put in the fridge at home.

Hardly ever, I never really developed a taste for it. I found a few things at World of Beer that I like, but I typically stick to rum and coke or cider if I'm having a drink in the evenings, and even that's on once or twice a week basis.
4/12/2012 9:52:47 AM
in average, probably 1 beer per day. I drink more for the taste than the effect these days. I'll go a week without a beer but some others I might drink 2-3.If i'm out with friends at the bar maybe 5-6 that evening. I try no to get smashed that much anymore.
4/12/2012 9:54:30 AM
what is wrong with you people?1 beer a day? What the hell do you do with the other 23 hours and 45 minutes?
4/12/2012 9:58:44 AM
^Like 4x4 I drink it for the taste and not so much for the effect. When I started homebrewing I noticed I really liked the taste of some beers, one of them is a tripel which comes in at about 8% ABV so I get a buzz even though that not really the point.
4/12/2012 10:02:33 AM
I like to have 3 beers/glasses of wine with dinner/after dinner. That usually gives me the semi-buzz that I like to go to sleep with.Weekends vary....but that's my normal mon-fri schedule.[Edited on April 12, 2012 at 10:16 AM. Reason : .]

I used to drink as much as face describes. Grad school was fun (and expensive).

If you're not getting your bac to at least .1 then you are wasting calories and money in my opinion. And once you get to .1 you're halfway to finding movies and sports entertaining, girls attractive, and being funny. Drinking one beer is like landing a hot girl and then telling her you value her friendship too much go any farther.
4/12/2012 10:11:48 AM
Usually 4-8 beers when I'm out with friends. If I'm staying in I usually drink wine or liquor.
4/12/2012 10:12:32 AM
My drinking habits over the past year has consisted of 2 weekday drinking nights, and 2 weekend drinking nights.Typically around 8-10 on the weeknights, and 14+ on the weekend nights.I've had some non-serious health issues from continual drinking, and have pledged to take a 2 week break to cleanse myself.
4/12/2012 10:17:32 AM
Used to have a beer or two with dinner maybe 2 or 3 times a week; so max, a 6 pack a week. That was up until about a month or so ago. Now, not so much I still have a beer when I got out for dinner.
4/12/2012 10:19:51 AM
I drink maybe once a week. If I'm going to drink, it'll be 5-7 beers.Sometimes it's not worth it, though. I remember the glory days when I could drink heavily 3 nights in a row and feel great. Now I feel like shit after one night of moderate drinking for most of the day after. I don't like what it does to my sleep cycle.
4/12/2012 10:29:39 AM
Take a multivitamin before bed with a glass or two of water. Drink a propel immediately after waking up. Voila.
4/12/2012 10:51:32 AM
i average 1 beer every 2-3 months.

haha i guess i should have clarified... I'm volunteering to pour beer at the beer festival... while we aren't allowed to drink while we are pouring, we are supposed to sample the beers we are pouring before-hand. Also there is a volunteer party afterwards where they supply beer for free.

i dont count, i pass out!
4/12/2012 11:19:42 AM
Most nights I will drink at least one (I'm in the same boat as Jeepin4x4) - However, I'm on call 4 nights a week so I can't drink those nights
4/12/2012 11:35:45 AM
None for about 4.5 years, 3-ish a night for the past two weeks or so. After I finish the last five I've got in the fridge, it'll be back to none.
4/12/2012 11:42:03 AM
none right now. I'm doing a lot of running and swimming/strength training so I can't really consume calories my body isn't going to use for optimum efficiency Before I would drink maybe 4-5 beers a weekend, never really during the work week.

None Mon-Wed. (being hungover at 5 am sucks) and maybe 3 if we go out on the weekend. I've definitely noticedonce I started watching my intake + eating healthier a few months ago, I was able to drop an extra 5-6 pounds pretty quickly.
4/12/2012 2:18:45 PM
None. Gave up drinking 100%. Feel great.

Only twice a week now, but I make it count. Various hallucinogens help me cope Mon-Fri.

^^pointless study with no details, just like french paradox. wine and beer lobby are so strong that you have to be a fool to think any amount of alcohol is good for you. i stopped few months back to simply reduce the amount of empty calories and sugars. i still love to have a good beer and a glass of wine with my steak, but i still firmly believe that any amount is bad for you.

^^Yea, you're right, you know because of all the social advantages I have, all the research should be thrown out the window. You know what, you might as well throw all the research about the negative effects of alcohol out the window because those susceptible to being alcoholics are socially disadvantaged and come from low-income households, are more genetically prone to being alcoholics, have poor health-care, etc. etc.It goes both ways.[Edited on April 12, 2012 at 7:48 PM. These days I typically have one beer (or glass of wine) after the kid is asleep before bed 3-4 days out of the week. Some of those nights I may have two. When we go out for a good time, which is at least once a month, i'll drink between 3 and way way too many and then the next day I remember why hangovers and babies* don't mix.*I don't go balls out unless he's on a overnight sleepover w/ the grandparents...don't you judge me
4/12/2012 7:53:27 PM
depends on how much i masturbate
4/12/2012 8:12:18 PM
^^^I'm not saying I have the answer. My belief that alcohol in moderation is not good for you is speculation. I did enjoy it when I drank, but I still believed that all this "drinking in moderation" is bunch of BS paid by big lobbies or founded on uncontrolled studies. Just like the article says...they really never took a controlled group of people and took their liver enzymes, measured artery plaque (and whatever else) before and after alcohol consumption over a long term like 10-20 years.
4/12/2012 9:10:14 PM
1-2 beers at home 3-4 times a week. Probably would drink more if I had friends that liked drinking, but most of them don't
4/12/2012 9:32:54 PM
