Looking for somewhere local, and i don't particularly want to buy a 20' piece or whatever. i really only need about 6-8 inches.

Maybe someone has some cut-off laying around?

but your best bet would be to find a piece of scrap. shouldn't be too difficult.

2.5" is common for use on commercial lavatories.

Its going to be black steel though... is there a particular grade you need.

not particularly.. as long as it is weldable and not cast or stainless.

but i went ahead and ordered one of those from mcmaster.
