It's an alright deal IMO. 5 year old bike, ABS failed? I'm no expert on these bikes yet, but from what I've heard/read the most common reason for the ABS module to fail is from neglect/failure to change the brake fluid regularly. Replacing that module is pretty expensive too... I'd also be weary that the fuel strip sensor may fail, unless the tank stayed full on a regular basis.I love my 08 r1200r.OP, is that your bike?[Edited on March 14, 2012 at 9:09 PM. Reason : .]

Yes that is my bike and the reason that Capital BMW gave me for the ABS going out was due to running on a low battery and burned out the ABS pump motor.It is a somewhat expensive fix but the great thing is that the bike doesn't need it. They also informed me that it would cause absolutely no danger to the rider and the brakes perform as if there were no ABS installed.
