I'm looking for a room/apartment for one person with bare essentials in Raleigh. Just so I can stay during the week. I guess I'm just looking for what the price would be per week or month so I can compare vs gas. Thanks

Furnished apartments aren't particularly cheap, especially on short-term leases. I know of a couple in the Brier Creek area that do executive leases as they're called but it was in the $900-$1500/month range last I had to research them about a year ago.Extended stay hotels might work out cheaper. We have a client staying in the Homewood Suites right now and it's $35/day. Room has a bed, a small kitchen, and a bathroom.

Yeah, extended stay is your best bet if you want to avoid leases and miscellaneous bullshit. Just get the bare essentials, thats the last of our dough.

Ahh yeah leases are another good point. Every time I've had to book a furnished apartment the minimum lease has been three months. Whenever we have someone staying for less than that the only option we have is an extended stay place.

$700 for your own room vs X for renting out a room and Y for furnitureX + Y is going to be pretty close to $700 anyway, plus you have to deal with someone elses shit

In the last house I rented, I sublet one of the rooms to a guy for $100 a week. He was in a similar situation as you (just needed a temporary place to stay in town during the week). Literally all he had was an air mattress, TV, and clothes.Found him on Craigslist, so you might want to check there to see if you can find a similar situation.

There's a lot of student apartments that charge $400/month w/ everything included. You'll have 2 or 3 roommates, but that's $4800/year. If you're staying for a year, definitely go that route. If shorter, just check craigslist and find someone renting a room. My friend pays $250/month for a room.
