Adventure island is the best park by far. Also the best nightlife bc they shut down downtown Disney bc too many parents doing drugs and ruining their kids vacation.

I'm actually going too, for work. The guy I'm going with lived there for a few years, and could probably recommend some stuff. What are you looking for? Local parks, places for nightlife, local places to eat? He's a little older, and doesn't seem like the nightlife type, so he may not be good for that.

Are there any Disney themed strip clubs in town?

Islands of Adventure was my fav for those who like rides...otherwise Tampa is 1.5hrs west and has Busch Gardens and awesome coasters

the real deal is deep sea fishing though, head boats go out of daytona, port canaveral, ft myers, tarpon springs, bradenton beach. You can drink all you want out on the high seas

harry potter world, of course

also, you should really go elsewhere, like try to find a cool place to stay on the coast. unless you're into theme parks or clubbing. though sometimes that's all people want to do, i guess.

other than disney and other shitty theme parks, orlando is replete with drug dealers and prostitutes.

so there's that.

aside from going to Disney shit as a kid, I had always heard Orlando was pretty conservative for Florida as far as being boring and a bunch of law abiding citizens and whatnot

i guess they have good marketing

Really appreciate all the suggestions.

We all deployed together and made a pact to meet in 5 years after our tour.

I think we are looking forward to a few drinks, but not enough to incapacitate us because some of us are brining families. So wanted to know what else there was.

Sorry, not really into the drug scene. Please let me know if there are places to avoid so that we don't get caught in the middle of some bad karma.

Like Raleigh or any other city doesn't have this shit too.

There is always the Cirque du Solei or Blue Man Group shows. A helicopter ride from International Drive could also be fun.

Thanks Stein... but I'll go where I want.

adaptiveopti, that's true... I just didn't want to round a corner and find myself somewhere shady. I think some of those shows might be worthwhile...

Go deep sea fishing on a head boat out of Daytona or Cape Canaveral, 70-80 per person

^^^ the flying looks pretty cool, but I don't think I'd spend the money.

I thought about renting a car and visiting my brother in law and friends down there, but I don't know.

I just got done looking around, and Cape Canaveral is less than an hour away.I may rent a car and drive out to the stuff there. Kennedy Space Center Visitor complex and U.S. Air Force Space & Missile Museum. That sounds like a day worth getting away for.

Also, I'm looking on Trip Advisor for some cheap places to grab some food. They suggest TooJay's Deli and Black Bean Deli for a Cuban place. Anyone else got any recommendations for a Cuban deli, or any other food that would be unique to that area?
