Have some CPU engineering samples. cant find much info on em. help a fellow out.Q2KT ESQ4EK ES

first one is an i7 of some variant, second one may be a xeon version of the i7. Do you have an LGA1366 motherboard handy that you can drop these on and see what the BIOS reads them as?
2/8/2012 3:52:14 PM
No....I have quite a few of these and would love to see if they are worth something.
2/8/2012 4:05:33 PM
The only added value to them will be that they are likely multiplier unlocked, so you can get a 20-30% premium over the normal chip. That is, if you can plug them in and verify that they are unlocked. Sorry no million dollar payday on these. The Xeon would potentially be worth a bit more, because there's no unlocked commercially sold xeon that I'm aware of.

Well how much are we talking...$5ea $50ea? I know it is hard to determine. I might be willing to compensate someone to test them for me
2/8/2012 4:20:37 PM
assuming good working order the first one should get about 150-200 and the second at least double that if it is a 6 core xeon, and they are multiplier locked. If they are unlocked then possibly a good bit more for the xeon. Too much depends on what these chips are in terms of clock speed and core count. I'm also assuming they are 1366 chips just because the codes fall in sequence with other chips of that kind, but don't exactly match.

I'd be careful.... intel went after some people for selling engineering samples not too long ago
2/8/2012 6:52:57 PM
I have 40 brand new of the Q2KTs and 5 of the Q4EKs
2/8/2012 7:30:20 PM
the q4ek looks to be 2.4ghz 12mb l3 cache 256k/core l2 cache quad core from the xeon 5600 fam[Edited on February 8, 2012 at 9:53 PM. Reason : first one looks like a 6core variant][Edited on February 8, 2012 at 9:54 PM. Reason : yep.]
2/8/2012 9:40:55 PM
someone clock these for me.
2/8/2012 9:41:47 PM
I miss being able to get engineering samples. =(
2/8/2012 9:53:36 PM
^^^none of that means anything to me. Someone give me the info needed to sell these and ill grease your pockets
2/8/2012 10:06:57 PM
i wouldn't suggest selling them until you can verify exactly what specs they have (ie. plug them into a mobo and boot it up)
2/9/2012 7:52:44 AM
well someone clock them for me. if theyre worth money ill break you off some loot when sold, or some chips if you prefer.
2/9/2012 9:00:05 AM
i'd be happy to do it...but i don't have a 1366 board lying about and my desktop is an AMD system
2/9/2012 9:15:59 AM
I've got access to some servers at work that I can test them in if you want to get me one of each to try.
2/9/2012 10:27:55 AM
anyone capable of testing a Socket LGA 1567?

blasphemour, Do you still have these CPUs? If they are LGA1366 CPUs, I have the equipment to test them. Please let me know.

He destroyed them. Nothing more to see here.

Yes, I did register yesterday... but that doesn't change the legitimacy of the question. I am simply willing and able to help test out these CPUs. I do have a web presence on eBay as a Top-rated seller, where my feedback speaks for itself. My username on eBay is "quad_core".[Edited on March 29, 2012 at 5:06 PM. they are LGA1567
3/29/2012 5:43:35 PM
Okay, just to clarify, they are the definitely the type seen in the second picture below?I am not personally familiar with your particular stepping codes and some have said LGA1366 and others have said LGA1567. If you are sure they are LGA1567, I guess I will not be able to help after all.

correct.

Here are pics of the chips I took when I identified them a while back - they are LGA1366 and 1567. The 1567 is pretty much exclusively a high-end server processor and equipment that uses it is relatively pricey and uncommon. I tested one of the 1366es and it worked fine. I still have not been able to get a hold of a machine that uses the LGA1567.People sell these things on eBay all the time, so Intel doesn't seem to be too worried about old ES chips.http://i.imgur.com/k0T0sh.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/qAvM5h.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/n0WHAh.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/fHJn9h.jpg[Edited on April 1, 2012 at 7:47 AM.
