Anyone interested in coming to RUaGamer next Friday Februrary 10th at 9:00pm for UMvC3 and SCV (at least)? The first 6 people to confirm via phone will get $5 toward game time which if you've never been means 12 hours. PM me or message me on XBL and I'll send my phone number. The place: http://www.ruagamer.net .I don't plan on running a tournament or anything, but we'll have Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Soul Calibur V at least, as well as at least two sticks. Feel free to bring any other game or sticks. Just interested in getting a bunch of offline games and meeting people in the area. I'm not staying 12 hours (probably more like 5-6).Let me know. In the meantime, hit me up on XBL: Luncheon Loaf to beat up on Viola or GR/Doom/Sentinel.

If you are the owner, you should pay me to build you some kind of custom battletech type pod combat setup.

I seem to remember trying this a few years ago. They all said it was going to fail in 6 months.

I'm not the owner. Just a guy who is sick of online.

I'm still doing this so even if you don't end up PMing me, feel free to stop by Friday night if you want to get some offline fights going. I'll also have the guides for both SC5 and UMVC3 on hand if you wanted to check either out.

It was actually really fucking busy, but with a bunch of folks that wanted to do their own thing(mostly MW3, some WoW amazingly and MK9) and didn't want to join us for UMVC3, SC5, or even some Kinect games I accidentally brought like Child of Eden. Mostly adults as far as I could tell. The place is quite nice. They also said it was cool to bring in beer (technically they said anything that you don't have to mix) and no worries about language or anything like that. We had a good time. Maybe we'll do it again (though it'll be 15 bucks instead of 5 from here on out).

I cant get over how stupid the name is.It seems like the name of a place that would attract the exact kind of 'gamer' I never want to hang out with.

I went here when i was still waiting for my internet to be hooked up for a WoW raid. Pretty chill place, and cheap. Only caveat was the idiots who were getting too rowdy over league of legends who accidently body slammed me while i was tanking a boss, causing a wipe

Here’s my problem with the whole concept, beyond the cringe worthy name. The whole point of video games, at least since the arcades died out, is to have an entertainment outlet when socialization with other humans proved inconvenient or unfeasible. But here, we’re bringing these people into same room, where face to face interaction generally takes precedent, and we’re still playing video games. When I play xbox, I’m generally in a general state of dishevelment. Sweatpants, tank top,, maybe one sock. I’m basically unfit to be seen by other people. The goal is to be as comfortable as possible, ie, a total fucking slob. I’ve basically given up on doing anything productive for the rest of that day. But at RUaGamer (and it hurts just to type that), I’m leaving my house to go play videogames with other people, thus defeating the whole purpose of why I play games in the first place, and rendering my “Fuck it all” dress code highly inappropriate. Now, I could be wrong. The people who frequent this type of establishment might be upstanding individuals who simply enjoy meeting up for a round of Halo instead of bowling or catching the game at a bar. But I doubt that. I’m under the impression that the average ‘client’ wears similar attire to what was mentioned above, because dressing up to play video games just seems silly. And don’t get me started on hygiene. It seems to me that you’re voluntarily opening your doors to the dregs of society, which is something I just can’t wrap my mind around, if you are in fact in the business of trying to make money.

Honestly you don't run into many slob types there. A lot of people are stopping in during lunch or after work, suit and tie types. The worst you have to deal with is kids.
