A thread to keep track of the times he has exercised his personal vendetta against NCSU.A list of the games which he has officiated this year.http://statsheet.com/mcb/referees/roger-ayers/scheduleBullshit calls he was responsible for:Miami- technical foul call on Leslie for pointing at Miami player (to be fair who knows what Leslie said).Georgia tech- Technical on Gottfried for taking off his jacket.Indiana- Scott Wood "intentional"3/5 five games he has officiated for NCSU he has directly gone out of his way to fuck NCSUThis dude needs to stay the fuck away...

inAnd fwiw he's not the guy who called the intentional on Wood. Quit being a bitch. ]

btl I know probably lockable but am I really the only one to notice this bullshit?^I am going from what Haynes said in a subsequent game about Ayers being the one who called it. [Edited on January 22, 2012 at 2:32 PM. Reason : for^]

And he t'd up Leslie for bitching about a call. Not pointing at a Miami player. ]

1/22/2012 2:33:58 PM
^ scratch that one then although he sure didn't bother to step in on a shitty call. Plus after the GT debacle I would expect that he would never officiate a NCSU game again.
1/22/2012 2:39:40 PM
Jamie Luckey called the intentional on Wood. Ayers gets a ding for the awful goaltend call today though.
1/22/2012 2:40:04 PM
i figured he'd get a "chop"
1/22/2012 2:41:11 PM
You can't chop a ref!
1/22/2012 2:41:35 PM
1/22/2012 2:43:04 PM
Wait, Luckie isn't the black ref? Ok nevermind I'm lost now.
1/22/2012 2:46:42 PM
Ha, nah man.FYI, Ayers was one of the officials in the infamous 6 players on the court game from a couple weeks ago. ]

^^This is Luckie:

Is he really any worse than any other ACC ref? Football OR Basketball?I mean, we have a really lousy slate of refs in this conference. During bowl season whenever I heard that the refs were from the ACC I cringed.I don't think any of them have every had it out for NC State in particular, I just think that a few of them are lousy and have no business officiating anything higher level than middle school sports./I swear we had an NC State versus the Refs style thread at some point. Not the NC State versus the Media one, that's a totally different conspiracy.
1/22/2012 4:17:41 PM
The GT incident was absolutely ridiculous and then you add up quite a few more incidents this year that all have Ayers involved and you have to start questioning his objectivity.
1/22/2012 4:18:47 PM
shocking that people who watch mainly ACC games think ACC refs are the worst in the countryshocking.
1/22/2012 4:21:59 PM
I know right? I know the SEC fans think their refs are the worst. It seems like the Big East and the ACC tend to exchange refs periodically so I assume they think theirs are the worst. How about the Big 12, Big 10, and Pac 12? I don't really hear anything about their refs.

BLAMEBLAME BLAME

probably because we live on the east coast/ACC country and aren't surrounded by fans/talking heads from those other regions

Dumb thread. Delete this garbage.
1/22/2012 5:27:34 PM
oh he back
2/20/2012 12:01:24 PM
you know it's a factor when the officials are getting announced the day before the game.
2/20/2012 12:03:37 PM
let's get ready for it. They saw our Karl Hess and raised us a Roger Ayers. good times will be had!
2/20/2012 12:06:16 PM
Anyone who thinks ACC refs are the worst didn't see the NIT game vs. Marist in Reynolds. Holy shit.
2/20/2012 12:23:16 PM
just to clarify vinyl, this thread is not about Roy Ayers
2/20/2012 12:24:38 PM
awwwwwww shoot
2/20/2012 12:40:32 PM
The UNC game would be a loss regardless of who the officials are. But the mere presence of Ayers on the court will widen the margin by 10 points.
2/20/2012 2:08:30 PM
its a good thing i'm working and won't be watching this game live
2/20/2012 2:32:04 PM
Why? Even if you weren't working, you shouldn't watch it if you don't want to.
2/20/2012 2:34:37 PM
Why is Ayers working this UConn/Nova game, boozie?
2/20/2012 8:06:35 PM
Because there are no ACC games on Monday.Once again, you have no clue what you are talking about.[Edited on February 20, 2012 at 8:10 PM. Reason : Why would Swofford be involved with Hess Ernie? ][Edited on February 20, 2012 at 8:14 PM. Reason : Ayers works multiple nights a week. I know that might be hard for a TWWer to understand]
2/20/2012 8:09:57 PM
I thought Dick Bavetta only did Western Conference games?

2/20/2012 8:36:48 PM
i dunno what you two are arguing...Hess is an NCAA basketball official...most of his games are ACC and Big East games...since this controversy was during an ACC game, its the ACC who is going to investigate it (even though Swofford is a pussy but thats another story)...he is an ACC ref, but not only an ACC ref
2/20/2012 8:42:03 PM
2/20/2012 8:46:06 PM
what i found kind of ironic when looking up Hess' reffing stats the other day was that the last time he ejected a player was 4 years agothat site didn't keep track of fan ejections though]
2/20/2012 8:47:51 PM
What's the line on Ayers giving a technical or Howell fouling out?
2/20/2012 8:49:22 PM
probably 3:1 on the technical (i have a feeling we might get just enough "good officiating" to make it a respectable loss) ...and probably 1:1 on Howell fouling out...maybe 0.5:1
2/20/2012 8:50:58 PM
I don't understand why I'm supposed to eat a dick.He started working ACC games in 1987. Most of his conference games this year have been for conferences other than the ACC; he's worked only three more ACC games than Big East games. There are no "ACC officials".
2/20/2012 9:28:18 PM
2/20/2012 9:34:50 PM
Most of the time he is working in conferences outside of the ACC. No quotes necessary.[Edited on February 20, 2012 at 9:37 PM. Reason : Post above was referencing Hess because I don't even know what thread this is]
2/20/2012 9:36:25 PM
most of the time he's working either ACC or Big East gamesjust seems like a dumb argument when hatred for Karl Hess is something that can bring UNC, Duke and State fans together...yet in this case its ripping the very fabric of Wolfpack nation apart
2/20/2012 9:37:59 PM
Good job tree, now we know you can add.
