looking for ram it doesn't have?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_processing_unitpeople don't refer to cars as enginesyou shouldn't refer to computers as CPUs[Edited on December 20, 2011 at 2:40 PM. Reason : don't worry about the page file. chances are it knows what it's doing]
12/20/2011 2:38:38 PM
but people do refer to concrete as cement!
12/20/2011 2:43:39 PM
But here is some useful information for you anyway:http://www.petri.co.il/pagefile_optimization.htm

that much utilization isn't unusual, depending on what's going on. If you run some games, you can easily get that kind of usage during the game. It should drop off when you exit the game, though. I've seen it continue to increase with memory leaks in shitty programs (I'm looking at you, Firefox), or even just routine Windows stuff. if it bugs you, reboot, and it'll go back down to normal.

^, ^^ Look at that. Information! And it wasn't even hard! Thanks you, "Tech Talk"

If you don't apply a custom size in windows it will typically manage it itself and usually ends up being close to the amount of system ram you have installed or at least that's what happens in my experience.-Although yeah Windows 7 handles the page file a little differently than prior versions of windows. What do you have? [Edited on December 21, 2011 at 8:03 PM. Reason : s]

Oh go fuck yourself. If you don't want to be corrected get your terminology straight.
12/21/2011 9:44:36 PM

i can't believe you are surprised that highly technical people are very anal and specificit's just the nature of the beast, man. if you can't deal with that, just use google.[Edited on December 22, 2011 at 10:35 AM. Reason : and also don't meddle in the affairs of wizards]

I'm surprised. Look at how surprised I am. I am totally shocked.

I'm pretty sure everyone knew what you meant, but it's the principle of the matter. We get paid to be accurate.

Look, just shut the fuck up. You goofed, were made a fool of, and now you won't let it go. There is no way you can argue yourself right or make anyone else look stupid for correcting you.Move on, become a better person and leave knowing your question was answered.

12/23/2011 3:18:15 AM

set your page file to system managed across all drives and leave it alone
7/25/2012 12:45:19 PM
fixed to the same size as available memory on my fastest drive non-ssd
7/25/2012 1:15:17 PM
7/25/2012 2:08:50 PM
windows leaves the page file enabled on an ssd by default because it doesnt contribute enough to wear vs the performance gain.
