...twice! + <--- how I feel nowGod damn, the acceleration and sound are orgasmic.Plus did a few full acceleration runs (from rest, shifting at redline every gear)... damn, I don't want to drive my car now.Steering was extremely responsive, and cornering felt great (kept DSC on).I do wish it was manual gear... that would be a lot more fun, at least for me./blog

How many frackin' BMW threads does there need to be? one. Just one.Hey look, we could use this thread!!!1message_topic.aspx?topic=591769

Hell no, man! This was a life and death experience... one mistake at 270 km/h, and I would've been dead!!! Considering that the steering was so responsive to very slight wrist movements (unlike my car), and the fact that my palms were getting sweaty because of the seonsorial overload, I was scared I was going to drive into the desert on either side of me and flip over a dozen times! It was great, but now I realize I shouldn't have. Have a wife and a toddler, not worth the risk. But hey, it was awesome! It is the fastest I have ever driven, by a wide margin (124 mph in my previous car, Volvo S60). Not the fastest I have ever ridden, though (177 mph in an R8). So, going from 124 mph in a 180 hp sedan to 168 mph in a 414 hp coupe, was a huge [dangerous] leap, which I am glad I took, but won't be taking again (my friend said I can drive it any time I want).

this thread cannot possibly contain the number of rolly eyes it inspires. maybe make a thread when you're doing 168 on 1 wheel
12/10/2011 12:07:21 PM
Hey OEPI, what do you drive?how about posting in the pic of your ride thread? I'm curious.also, pretty sure a 2011 E93 has speed sensitive steering, so I doubt a twitch would kill you

OEP, I've always thought of you as one of those guys that posts photos of supercars he will never be able to afford or drive, but 168mph is no joke. I suppose 170mph is not even technically a supercar these days, but damn, it's still fast. Take it easy out there, bro.And post pics of those straight desert roads.

if the ford can do 202 like it says... i'll be going to xroads grabbing some keys and turning 440 into a nascar track.(not really but it would be a cool story bro)[Edited on December 12, 2011 at 6:56 AM. Reason : .]

I was 2 cars back from a 90mph vs 45mph head on collision a few years back, everyone died. It sounded (and looked) like a bomb went offdont be out there fuckin up, mannn.

I still say that going 135 (mph) in my Integra is scarier than 168 in an M3, lol
12/12/2011 2:48:41 PM
yeah, 135 in my 93 camry was pretty sketchy, though fun
12/12/2011 10:17:51 PM
I don't even know why this thread is cool. I was takin motorcycles to 180 on the way home shit faced from strip clubs years ago. Grow up.
12/13/2011 1:01:41 AM
Speed limiter on the 5sfe Camry is 110. Cool story though bro.
12/13/2011 1:04:15 AM
not on the dx manual
12/13/2011 7:50:01 AM
^you hit 135 in a 130hp Camry? Hmmmmm, does not compute.
12/13/2011 8:15:42 AM
my camry does 135 easy.... but then it's got a turbo boxer engine in it too
12/13/2011 8:37:24 AM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrLaPttdhiU&feature=relatedthat has 5 people in the car and is an auto
12/13/2011 9:58:45 AM
1) the '93 Camry had a 2.2 liter engine, not 2.4 like the car in the video2) the indicated top speed in that video is 122. INDICATED. So 115 is probably closer to the real speed3) extra weight (from passengers) doesn't affect top speed. It just takes longer to reach it.this is really a silly argument of course.
12/13/2011 10:10:35 AM
NOT a 93 camry[Edited on December 13, 2011 at 10:11 AM. Reason : ^ beat me to it :busted:]Having owned a 5sfe camry (among others) I can assure you that you never went 135 in it, and you probably didnt hit the speed limiter if the AC was turned on.[Edited on December 13, 2011 at 10:13 AM. Reason : LOL]
12/13/2011 10:11:15 AM
ok, well I obviously did not have any gps equipment out to log my speed, but the speedo needle went to the end of range it can indicate which is 130 and then some ticks. I do think those speeds in a camry are much more entertaining/scary than any speed a new m3 is capable of going.
12/13/2011 11:45:11 AM
i went ~ 20 mph past the 80 on my yj's speedometer once... but i was also tailgating the shit out of my buddy in his camero... this was also performed on a closed course.
12/13/2011 11:58:01 AM
Anything over 120 in my old civic was scary. The front end felt floaty and it was still pulling pretty well.

OEPI is notably absent from this thread...
12/13/2011 2:00:07 PM
^^ no... its not the fastest anyone has been... its kinda funny, when the last one was made i was driving a jeep and hadden't been fast often hence the lawn mower wars. now i accidentally go way too fast from time to time.
12/13/2011 3:22:08 PM
^^^ yup, still holds true for me.
