I'm sure there's a law against such heinous criminal behavior, but figured I would see what the Wolf Web had to say...anybody know anything about this?

I know you can't do it in National Parks, but I'm not sure about state parksTitle 36, Chapter 1, Part 2, Section 2.1.4

National Forests are fair game, though.

I've done it in a state park before (limbs not whole trees though). A ranger checked in on us as we were about to leave to see if we were going to get a permit for camping and didn't seemed bothered, there's no way he didn't see all of the limbs in the back of my car. I was sweating it when he rolled up though.[Edited on November 13, 2011 at 9:02 PM. Reason : it might be illegal he just didn't care]

If you buy a mobile sawmill you can make some money doing this, as long as you know your tree species

I think a mobile saw mill might draw a little more attention than I am looking for

its kind of interfering with forest processes, im sure you can always ask, there maybe trees that are more of a nuisance and of minimal benefit to the system in their determination.plus alot of times dead limbs may harbor diseas of noxious pests that they dont want spread or affecting surrounding agriculture, thats why in general you cant remove or bring materials to or from parksbut i mean, just ask and dont be sneaky and theyll tel you whats what.[Edited on November 14, 2011 at 12:34 PM.
