I looked at the features on the apple website but then got lazy.Does anyone know if the iPod nano can connect to my iPhone through bluetooth and be used to communicate texts, emails, and phone calls to my wrist?

not 100% sure, but i don't think so
11/9/2011 10:38:12 AM
nope.
11/9/2011 10:47:22 AM
that sucks. guess i won't spend the 129 after all
11/9/2011 10:48:19 AM
plus, you really don't want to be that guy with the nerd watch, you'll be glad you changed your mind!

i am ok with the nerd watch if i can get text message and phone call alerts on my wrist.shit would be badass
11/9/2011 10:57:57 AM
Motorola's new doohickey is supposed to do that but it's gonna cost a lot more money.
11/9/2011 11:05:24 AM
because pulling your phone out of the pocket to check your text messages is so goddamn incovenient..

this is dumb shit... but then i have a really expensive watch that only tells time and has to be wound every night... so really who's the dumbass?[Edited on November 9, 2011 at 3:55 PM. Reason : .]

They will probably add bluetooth to the next nano as well as a microphone and speaker (and jack the price up of course)Getting texts would be cool but imagine how awesome nerds would feel if they could use siri on a wristwatch. That's some Sci-fi fantasy wish fulfillment shit right there.

used to have one of theseThe novelty wears out pretty fast.[Edited on November 9, 2011 at 4:51 PM. Reason : p]

Fuck your watch. I got electrodes implanted in my head that communicate over iBrain and beam everything my phone is doing directly into my brain.
11/9/2011 6:58:36 PM
^^ but if it were a better display than 1 bar I think the novelty could last a little longer.

I put my phone on vibrate and check it instead of being lazy.

i don't think it looks that bad

I liked these ones. I think nano in a wristwatch mount has potential as an audio player and possibly a fitness trainer, but txt messages and email is just too much IF you have to carry a phone in your pocket anyways
11/10/2011 2:10:45 PM
I wasnt thinking about actually communicating through the watch. only receiving alerts in case I didn't feel the vibration in my pocket

Dude I sit next to at work has one of these. He is a global systems engineer so he's on an airplane all the time, so it's easy for him to just plug his headphones into the "watch" and listen to music instead of draining the battery on his phone.
11/12/2011 1:04:09 PM
how long would the battery last for one of these?
11/12/2011 6:36:07 PM
Built-in rechargeable lithium-ion batteryUp to 24 hours of music playback when fully chargedCharging via USB to computer system or power adapter (sold separately)Fast-charge time: about 1.5 hours (charges up to 80% of battery capacity)Full-charge time: about 3 hoursSubstantial battery life
