Does anyone know how much effort it would take to recreate just 1 level of the angry birds app, on the iPad.Just curious as to how much involvement, hours/money it would take for such a production. Again, just for 1 level/map/whatever you want to call it.

Don't start with this. If you do, though, and if you have had experience with iOS development, and if you use cocos2D or some similar game development framework, I'd say 30 hrs to get something working.Actually, on second thought, you might be able to find a cocos2D tutorial somewhere with exactly what you're asking for. Depends on whether you're trying to learn or just need to use it for something.]

Yeah, so ... similar features, physics stuff, destruction objects ... but I want to add/change some significant components.just really wondering if it would take 40k to make, or if it could be done for a reasonable amount of money. If anyone knows someone who can do this in 40 hours (meaning from scratch graphics AND programming), then I REALLY want to talk to them I was thinking at minimum around the 120hr mark.

Just to be clear by 30 hrs I meant to get something working, not to have it look nice or be as polished as Angry Birds.

I would say that for something like angry birds, 40k is a reasonable amount of money.pretty fucking good payback period on that

Yeah, for the whole game, sure 100k is reasonable ..Hoping I could get something for 4-10k realistically that is semi polished, but most importantly, has the complete backbone of the game done, so that adding more things could be done easily over time.in other words, a finished product, 1 level/map angry birds with less *obstacle types* than you see when going through the full game of angry birds levels. Just ice/glass, rocks, and wood would suffice (no balloons, bouncy stuff, dynamite, tree limbs required).

Here you go. Open source Angry Birds knock off with two levels:http://blog.anscamobile.com/2010/12/ghosts-vs-monsters-open-source-game-in-corona-sdk/Also goes to show that you aren't going to have something very polished after 36 hours even with someone who knows what the hell are they doing.

Very Cool ... Very much what I was looking for ...Now to find a graphics person !!

The few people that could do it in that amount of time would charge the same amount. The game crayon took 2 years. I think that's where they got the box physics engine.
