11/3/2011 11:47:49 AM
The Crab chips are indeed the patella of the Antophila. But these Maui chips..... It's like BBQ meets Salt'n'Vinegar meets something sweet. They pack a punch.

11/3/2011 6:44:44 PM
Utz chips are my far the most flavorful chips around - at my local grocery, at least. But I have to agree with BHS, once you go kettle-cooked, regular chips aren't even on the radar anymore.
11/3/2011 7:34:12 PM
i haven't even tried to maui bbq ones yet, but i can already tell you they would blow the chips pictured above out of the water.

I'm addicted to the Carolina BBQ Utz chips, even though they don't really taste like Carolina BBQ. I'm sure the Lays version is awful, though.
11/3/2011 7:42:58 PM
I PREFER EASTERN BBQ POTATO CHIPS

the Chicken and Waffle Lays chips are awfulthe Sirracha aren't bad though
2/23/2013 12:18:53 PM
I was very excited when I heard they were making sriracha chips. Then someone told me they were quite disappointing I guess it's best for me to have low hopes, though. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised now.
2/23/2013 12:34:02 PM
I like the taste, but that taste definitely isn't Sirracha[Edited on February 23, 2013 at 12:35 PM. Reason : I maybe should have clarified that initially]
2/23/2013 12:35:21 PM
Ketchup chips are okay. Can't find Smokehouse BBQ anymore Chicken & Waffles chips are the topic of discussion amongst chip-enthusiasts, though. I have yet to endeavor.
2/23/2013 12:36:57 PM

2/23/2013 12:39:49 PM
Pickle-flavored?
2/23/2013 12:55:28 PM
The Dill Pickle Lay's are actually really good. Also Utz Carolina BBQ >>>> Lay's Carolina BBQ
2/23/2013 8:36:54 PM

This thread changed my life back when it was created. I go through a bag of Maui BBQ chips a week. The taste never gets old
2/24/2013 9:28:01 AM
man fuck those chips, they kill your tongueit's worse than toothpaste + oj
3/24/2013 12:13:53 PM
This reminds me to go buy some Utz chips
3/24/2013 12:17:21 PM
Regular Utz chips of all varieties are delicious."Grandma Utz's Kettle Chips" are one of the worst chips I've ever had.
3/24/2013 12:24:05 PM
so whats up with takis? i bought a bag of the 7-11 brand (chili lime flavored) and i can only eat like two at a time. at first i thought they were super spicy but then i realized they are mildly spicy but very very sour. as soon as i eat a few my tongue breaks out in welts. i can handle pretty spicy food but these things are just too much.
3/24/2013 12:42:42 PM
yeah the lime is a bit much on them
3/24/2013 12:49:56 PM
UTZ Hot Chipsthe only chip that lives up to its claim of being hot

I saw some Utz BBQ Rib Chips, but did not endeavor.Any commentary on these?]
3/24/2013 9:16:59 PM
^Actually bought some today because I could not find Maui BBQ chips. I like them a lot, and I'm not a huge fan of BBQ flavored chips. I've never had the Maui BBQ Chips, so I can't compare the two.[Edited on March 24, 2013 at 9:27 PM. Reason : jj]
3/24/2013 9:26:59 PM
Can you compare them to Ruffles Smokehouse BBQ, which are the pinnacle of chip success?
3/24/2013 9:34:22 PM
I am not able to make that comparison. I can't recall ever trying Ruffles Smokehouse BBQ. But if it truly is the "pinnacle of chip success" I'll make a point to get some on my next grocery trip. These BBQ Rib chips are the wavy variety...so they're thicker, crunchier, and the ridges allow for greater flavor accumulation on each chip. In general I find wavy chips better than their non-ridged counterparts.
3/24/2013 9:39:23 PM
Utz owns all of them
3/24/2013 9:41:49 PM
3/24/2013 9:43:24 PM
Just looked, these utz chips are actually called "Baby Back Ribs"...I assume we're talking about that same chip.
