Google can’t seem to quickly help me here, and I don’t have a lot of time to spend on it right now…so here you go TWW…I have “Allow editing directly in cells” enabled in Excel. Is it possible to keep this enabled and still be able to follow references? Maybe by holding down some combination of hotkeys I’m not privy to?For example, so let’s say this particular cell has =’Sheet2’!$D$2 as a reference. I want to retain my ability to drill-down and edit in cell (as blocks of text become a pain in the ass in the formula bar), but I want to also be able to follow the reference to cell D2 in the Sheet2 worksheet. Why can’t it just work by holding down control or shift or something easy like that

F2 puts the cursor in the cell if you have edit in cells enabled (on to the formula bar if you do not have it enabled). Ctrl+ did not do anything.Following references:I’m in Sheet1. I want to reference cell D4 in Sheet2. I put the reference in cell A1 of Sheet1 as follows: “=Sheet2!$D$4”If you do not have editing in cells enabled you can double-click on A1 in Sheet1 and it will jump to the cell it is referring to (D4 in Sheet2). When I do have editing in cells enabled, it allows me to edit the reference formula in A1 when I double click on A1. I want to be able to edit in cells but still be able to click on references and have them jump to the cell the reference is pointing to.
