Has anyone ever suffered from this or know of someone who has. What have you done, what are your experiences? Feel free to PM me if you want. I have a friend who is having a lot of pain but there's no answer to what is causing it. He's been to a few doctors who didn't have any answers for him, write him off and/or think it's just psychological It doesn't look like he's suffering from hair loss or anything either. I think he tried steroids (cream) and that didn't work. http://hanishbabu.suite101.com/burning-scalp-syndrome-a122459http://www.ehow.com/about_5447789_burning-scalp-syndrome.html

Maybe he's developed an allergy to something in his hair products? Has he tried switching to something with less chemicals in it to see if that helps?

yeah, I'm pretty certain he has switched up all hair products to see if that's causing it. Also there doesn't seem to be any visual evidence of anything wrong with the skin.

I would shave my head. Sounds painful and annoying and not having hair might make me feel like I've done everything I could.Change diet, supplemants, drinks, shampoos, soaps, deoderants, etc...

So it's been almost a year since this painful burning began for him. He's tried pretty much everything you can think of: switched out all his products, tried every product you can think of, started to make his own shampoo with natural ingredients, tried mixing powdered caffeine with shampoo, tried capsaicin, had his hair really short, had it really long, had his water tested several times, put in water filters for his shower, completely changed his eating habits (several times), tried anti-anxiety drugs (but not anti-depressants).IS THERE ANYONE ON HERE WHO HAS GONE THROUGH THIS OR KNOW SOMEONE IN THEIR LIVES WHO HAVE?
