Would you take Petrovich or Neyhart?

I had Neyhart, and he was pretty good overall - don't remember any particulars, but I enjoyed the class.

I personally really liked Neyhart, but I've had friends who've liked Petrovich too.

I can only speak about petrovic:I just missed the c-wall with petrovic my first semester. (100% laziness on my part). I liked her enough that I signed up for her class again in the spring and passed it.

I had Petrovich. I really liked her because she taught to me like I was a kindergartner. For Chem, I really needed stuff broken down in it's simplest form. She didn't complicate things and she really tried to make it fun. You have to be a retard not to understand the material after she teaches it. I so wish she would have taught a Chem 201 class too. I would have done exponentially better if she had taught me instead of Warren (no offense, it's just two different teaching and learning styles).

Watch out for GreatGazoo.

naw fuck Gazoo, go with Warren

I had Petrovich for 101. Was pretty easy and she was very personable and approachable. However, I loved chemistry in high school and some people didn't like her at all.I also had Warren/Gazoo for 201. He was a little harder to follow, but still taught well and was very personable as well. Never heard of Neyhart.

warren was tough for 201. rumor has it that his tests were the hardest. even though i would have gotten a higher grade in other classes, i'm glad i had warren. it was a challenge and i learned the fuck out of some chemistry. ]

I had Neyhart (like 10 years ago ) and really liked him.

I don't really think it matters for 101, it's going to be a 100+ person lecture hall class. Don't even remember who I had, just remember it was my first ever class at NCSU... 8:00 MWF.

^exactly.chem 101 doesn't matter. whoever you get, if you can't get an A with moderate effort or less, it's time to rethink the whole college thing.

Both are outstanding professors

Neyhart for the win (as long as he hasn't changed since '05)

I had Orji. I think he got fired but holy shit did that guy suck an AU of balls.

Neyhart is the way to go. He is an excellent teacher and does a great job of conveying the concepts and making class pretty entertaining.Neyhart FTW!

^^ please don't get this question wrong on the test, or IT WILL BREAK MY HEART
2/22/2012 2:28:07 AM
^^^Orji was fired. I had him for organic I the first summer he was there. He was AWFUL but at least the tests were multiple choice.I had Petrovich for CH101 - she was very approachable and took the time to learn our names. She made the class interactive and would ask for volunteers - I got to throw chalk board erasers at her for one of them.]
