Rainy season. Everything will be green and the wine is still tasting good. Definitely less busy and if you hit the right weekend it'll be the perfect trip.[Edited on October 27, 2011 at 9:51 PM. Reason : worst case it's 55 and raining. best case its 75 and sunny.]

Shittiest time of year to go weather-wise, but the crowds are pretty minimal so that's a plusI dunno, half the fun of going to wine country is the scenery, so I'm not sure how happy I'd be to fly across the country to deal with the gloomy weather. But you never know, one year my parents came out to NorCal in January for a visit and it was sunny and in the 80s

You can go to Vail in February, and Napa Valley some other time. That is the natural order of things.

Is this a good time to go?

To Napa? Sure. I prefer Sonoma, but summer is a great time to go. Just bring a suitcase filled with cash.

This place is snooty. Can just drink liquor on the streets of San Francisco for more thrills.

Go to Sonoma or Livermore. Napa has been ruined for almost a decade now.
