Caution: Words.I have a unique opportunity for someone who has managed or worked at a tanning salon. I am part owner of a building in the Preston part of Cary, NC. The building has a Jiffy Lube, Dry Clean City and a Jersey Mike's that have all been operational for the past 10+ years. In December of 2010, Electric Beach (tanning salon) went out of business due to a substance abuse issue with the owner. I understand that their business was successful and profitable. With that said, all of their equipment is in the space and was forfeited by the operator per the lease agreement. There are no liens on any of the equipment - we've had our attorney check for that already. I believe there are 6 beds (3 low end models, 2 high efficiency and 1 middle efficiency model - one of the high efficiency models needs a few bulbs or parts). We also have a Mystic Spray Booth. Obviously, we are not collecting rent as we have not leased the property to a new user. We only started marketing the property this summer. I would be looking for someone that we could do one of two solutions - 1. pay an hourly rate to run and operate the tanning salon, or, 2. lease you the equipment for $1 and have you pay us the monthly rent that we're seeking. We'd have you run the business to cover the rent and not necessarily make excess profits - I have no interest in running this personally and would enjoy the passive income from rents.

I did. And I hated it... mostly because of the company - otherwise it was a fun and easy job. But I've moved on to doing things where I can actually use my degree now.

A moderator is welcome to move this to the Lounge. My bad...With that said, I'd love any insight that anyone with experience has to share...

It's pretty simple. Let's say the business makes $3,000/month in profit, but you spend $5,000/month on cocaine. Even though the business is profitable, you no longer have the cash flows necessary to support the business because you are "re-investing" it elsewhere. What is there to not understand?

I have a 1920x1200 monitor so it's not that big, most people should have 1080p screens by now. My 6 year old Dell Laptop has a 1200p screen.and I had to find something that was $5000 worth of coke Actually I'm on my friends 19" now and that thing is huge, tell a mod to remove it.[Edited on October 4, 2011 at 2:51 PM.
