Two years ago we had the most starts missed in FBS history due to injuries. This year we are losing key guys left and right. [Edited on September 23, 2011 at 9:19 AM. Reason : you're doing something wrong]

I assume he's our S&C coach?Something's not right when our players are this fragile...

I believe the problem is this.. (using stars as a reference to a players true ability, not in reference to recruiting stars/rankings)A 3* player at ECU plays 2 or 3 games against really tough competition each year. These 3 games are typically difficult and likely filled with injuries, especially among the weaker, less talented players, because they get owned on the field for the entire game.A 3* player at NCSU plays 7 or so games against tough competition each year. This constant attack by better, more physical players, all year long, causes more stress and injury than for other teams with sufficient talent to stand their ground and not get owned the entire game. So, I think the problem is two fold ... and sort of a chicken or the egg thing ... we recruit players that are not the best of the best, and therefore they get here and get injured more often, which keeps them from being able to continually get even stronger, which makes it so that when they get back on the field they are right where they left off, or possibly less strong, which gets them injured again .....Which makes us put even lesser quality people in the game, for which the vicious cycle continues until we have a bunch of freshman on the field getting owned all night long, and everyone else nursing injuries...Which gives us less options for substitutions, which causes everyone to get owned even more and injured even more ....Ok, just me taking a stab at it

watching that trainwreck last night, i will say it looked like UC was trying to hurt our players. The play where CatoBishop got hurt looked fucking intentional.Glennon looked like his ass had a target on it all night... tackling the ankles, buckling his knees, bunchhh of borderline late hits. Maybe he's too tall for anyone to feel sorry for him.

^^I was going to say:1) Put some duct tape over the top of the extension cords that stretch across the field in Carter-Finley. No more tripping hazards.2) Take the bear traps out of the weight room. There's got to be a better place for them.

So far, we have been behind in all 4 games at some point (if I remember correctly)2 we got owned pretty badly .... wake was not as close as the score makes it lookso, 2 out of 4, and the rest are legit games which we will likely loose, so .... yeah, there will definitely be 7 games that we get owned this year, based on what I have seen so far. Also remember that we had injuries last year too, many of which contribute to one of the points I was trying to make ... when you are injured for a whole year, you are not IMPROVING from a strength/conditioning/skill perspective, while every other player in your class around the country IS improving because they are playing and working out at full speed.Injuries are not simply a 1 year problem ... they lessen the strength and experience of the overall team for the following years as well.

^^^ agreed. I thought that double or triple low block on Cato-Bishop was dirty. And there was a lot of grabbing at Mike's ankles. The only late hit I had a problem was, the first Glennon scramble and slide where the defender led with his helmet. The guy that was chasing him and hit him I don't have a problem with b/c Mike was waiting for the last min to slide

That logic is awful, but your misinterpretation is worse.

exactly. 3 huge players of ours (sweezy, manning, reiskamp) were out with injuries. they are huge guys. these are not tiny "ECU" sized players.
