What is it?

is it tanks like the game where you set trajectory and power and try to obliterate the other tank with all types of cool ammunitions?[Edited on September 22, 2011 at 3:35 PM. Reason : l]

I think you mean "scorched earth: the mother of all games"

to me it looks fun to me
9/22/2011 4:04:41 PM
It's awesome. It's like a third/first person shooter...with tanks.

9/22/2011 11:48:07 PM
Yea, there is xp and "leveling" (by getting new and better tanks), but I would say it is more akin to the CS mod Gun Game than to something like Wow.
9/23/2011 4:04:20 AM
looks cool. too bad its not on xbox.
9/23/2011 9:12:11 AM
Interesting . . . will look at when I get the desktop up and running again.
9/23/2011 12:34:11 PM
about to get the Lee, finally a real...abet shitty tank.
9/26/2011 11:17:44 AM
Looks interesting - downloading now.
9/26/2011 11:21:36 AM
^^ I feel for you..the Lee is a pain to play. The Tanks it unlocks though are allstar M4 and T1 Heavy.
9/26/2011 12:25:13 PM
Lee is horrific, dear god, I dont even want to buy the new gun so i can get out of it that quick. Tank destroyers have better feilds of fire.
9/28/2011 9:36:14 AM
Well damnit, Lee is my next purchase. That bad, really? I've enjoyed the M2 too...

I checked this game out after reading this thread. Yea I am loving this game so far.I am playing through the Soviet tech tree. I am just starting to get into the tier three units with the spg first. I have all of the tier 2 units and plan to advance like that through the game, until I have all USSR Tier X units, or get bored with it. So far its been a lot of fun though.[Edited on September 30, 2011 at 8:22 PM. Reason : ]

im anteck7got the sherman... What a upgrade.
10/1/2011 11:20:24 AM
I just recently got the Tiger. It's kind of lame stock, but it's a killer sniper after upgrades.
10/24/2011 11:10:51 AM
I was just thinking about bumping this topic. I'm moving up the American medium and TD line, and I've been happy with the M4 Sherman so far, but I really need some of the Wolverine upgrades to make full use of my first turreted TD.
10/24/2011 2:19:52 PM
I am finally cracking into the level 4 tanks. Just got the Su-5. Really do like this game for a quick game or two. Been playing a bit this morning though to advance all of my Soviet tanks to lvl. 4 vehicles.
10/30/2011 1:12:43 PM
Downloading now.Can I expect to get my ass handed to me at the beginning?
10/31/2011 2:07:57 PM
^Nope. The battle system groups you by tank type. It will balance out by class, types, etc. to get a balanced match. But basically in the level one tank you will be playing people with other level one and two tanks, SPGs and TDs. As you start to progress up you will play on more/bigger maps and start to see more and more higher level units. But they will be balanced out by higher level tanks on your team, so it usually stays pretty even.
10/31/2011 2:50:29 PM
Probably not - the game works on a tier system, so you'll start with tier 1 tanks and play against tier 1 and 2 tanks, which are mostly tin cans with peashooters. As you progress and buy better tanks, you'll start seeing the different tank types becoming more specialized and tactics will come more into play i.e. you wouldn't want to face off against a heavy tank in your light tank head on etc. It seems to be pretty noob-friendly, so good luck!
10/31/2011 2:51:10 PM
No, I'm getting my ass kicked pretty consistently.
11/2/2011 4:21:35 PM
just started download kibong is name
11/2/2011 4:43:00 PM
^^Well it takes some training and teamwork. The earlier rounds were a real hit or miss proposition. You are playing with complete noobies and with folks that have been playing for a while, but have not advanced enough to get out of the first round of tanks/TDs/SPGs. So its a wild difference at that level. Sometimes you find good teammwork, and sometimes you get teammates that start shooting their own team because they are idiots. As you advance up in tanks you kinda get away from that bullshit. You start playing with people who have been doing it for a while, so they know the tactics it takes to win, and have put in the time and effort to learn the game. It weeds out the folks who are playing for 5 minutes once or twice just to screw around. Hence why it gets a lot more fun. But it takes time. Also make sure to do the research and upgrades on your base tank. Some of the bigger guns and engines/suspensions make your light tank quite a bit more nimble and can kill an enemy tank in 1-2 shots.

Are there any tricks for getting credits? I refuse to use paypal for this.
11/3/2011 7:02:33 PM
Same here on refusing to use paypal. Thus far my best strategy is just doing well in rounds. What tanks are you using and what's your typical playstyle? An interesting thing to note is that you get rewarded more for the damage you deal than the kills you get, so shoot what you can and don't worry about someone stealing your kill. I'm currently in the tier 5-6-ish tanks, but I can always buy a smaller tank and run some rounds with you - in game name is Dominico092
11/3/2011 10:41:13 PM
Unfortunately premium tanks are the best way to farm credits, if you are going to get one you should get the Lowe.I played this a lot during beta and now I have IS-7 and T-54 on the Russia faction.Germany got their progression tree refreshed and has some amazing tanks. US is average and frustrating to play, progression is kind of fucked for US heavy tanks with T34 getting such shitty armor. Russia always has been very good in the game, their heavy tanks are very mobile, my IS-7 goes 40 km/hour on flat surface.
11/3/2011 10:46:13 PM
It's pretty clunky on my old laptop. I feel like I'm definitely missing some kills as a result.
11/3/2011 11:23:47 PM
Speaking of heavy tanks and how the US has a poor line, I'm thinking of starting a German or Russian heavy line, but I can't decide which. Any advice? And which particular heavy line would be best -i.e. Maus line vs E100 for Germans, and equivalent for the Russian line?
11/3/2011 11:33:14 PM
^I have personally played the Russian side exclusively. I originally chose them because of the Russian armor history, but after going through the Wiki, it seemed that the Russian forces had the best all around mix of tanks. Their sloped armor gets more ricochets, their diesel fuel tech keeps them engines from catching fire as much, but mainly they mount the biggest guns. I prefer to play as a sniper in many of my games, so I love sniping enemy tanks with shells that just about destroy them in 1-2 shots. Have ya'll generally progressed on the tech tree for a specific tank type like getting all the heavies in all three sides, or have ya'll focused on one side and advanced them all? I have generally upgraded my whole Russian tech tree at the same pace, so I am fielding all the level 4 tanks or whatever right now. Just curious what strategy ya'll used for advancing. I just get too bored playing the same thing over and over again. This allows me to scout a round, then hide and TD a round, and then arty the next. I like mixing it up in WoT.
11/4/2011 6:14:23 AM
Just started a Russian Heavy line - Look out IS-7, here I come!
11/4/2011 7:54:31 AM
I should be picking up the T-28 today. First medium tank for me. Excited about getting into the bigger tanks that can trade some fire and not blow up in 1-2 shots like my TDs and light tanks do.
11/4/2011 10:26:28 AM
I should be doing the same. I'm really liking the T-46 however, as the light tank battles can be pretty fun if you run-n-gun, but I'm looking forward to the KV for a (hopefully) fun heavy grind.
11/4/2011 2:23:50 PM
Got the T-28! It has not impressed as a base model. Can't wait to get that heavy gun as then she'll pack a nice punch.[Edited on November 4, 2011 at 7:10 PM. Reason : ]
11/4/2011 7:05:06 PM
been playin this for the past two days, not too bad for free.
11/6/2011 10:35:10 PM
Game is surprisingly addictive. I'm actually enjoying arty play a lot. SU-26 is pretty entertaining.
11/7/2011 1:25:52 AM
The KV is an excellent credit maker. It's repair costs are low and the derp cannon does incredible amounts of damage. I'm up around tier 7 but I still keep a couple tier 5s (Pz IV and KV) for credit farming.
11/7/2011 9:07:31 AM
I'm grinding away at the T28 just waiting for the KV. I'm doing pretty terrible though as I'm playing as if I'm still in my E8, and that keeps getting me killed I've had fun with arty too - up to the hummel myself, and its awesome doing 900 damage in a single shell, but at 1200 bucks per shot, misses sure do hurt!So far I'm liking tank destroyers the best I think, but that may change. I'm waiting on earning a bunch of cash to buy a slugger, but I keep blowing all my savings on other things.
11/7/2011 9:26:03 AM
god, the m37 arty sucks ass. I donno in what world its considered better than the cheaper t57 arty even though its got a less powerful gun. I want to work on my t28 to get the KV as well, but I should save up some money and get the l4 m3 tank. And yes, the anti-tank guns are pretty potent. I grabbed the cheap american one and got 6 kills on my first round.
11/7/2011 11:55:25 AM
I am currently fielding:T-28: Still not happy with it. Got the midlevel gun. Trying to grind to research the top tier guns, since they pack a much bigger punch.SU-5: Like the potency of this, but hate two things. No gun turret swivel, and the fucking 14 round ammo limit is awful. Feel like I'm still in the SU-18.SU-85B: I love TD strategy, so I like this bracket a lot. The 2nd round with the 85B, I took out like 6 guys on my own. That was so fucking awesome to own half the enemy team. Can't wait to get the 85 though with that ZiS 107.BT-7: Fun tank for running and gunning, but I feel so weak when fielded against anybody with real tanks. I am simply keeping this around to have a fast tank until I pick up the A-20 and T-50. Any thoughts on which is better to pick up?[Edited on November 7, 2011 at 12:38 PM. Reason : ]
11/7/2011 12:35:02 PM
Haven't had a whole lot of personal experience with lights, but I've never seen a kickass A20 and I've seen plenty of absurdly fast T50s that seem to make out alright. I got the 80-something mm gun on the T-28 and it certainly packs a punch. However, the paper armor and long aim time is really frustrating. Can't wait to buy my Slugger and get back in the TD tactics. If you're looking for a fun medium though, I STRONGLY suggest pursuing the American Sherman E8, as it can be a blast - just a great all around tank.
11/7/2011 4:32:11 PM
Just got that big gun on the T-28. Better, but still yea I think I like the light tanks better than the T-28, because at least they can avoid some of the fire. That damn thing is huge and just about bursts into flames of its own accord when the bullets start flying.BTW sorry I did not see your message for like 45 minutes.
11/8/2011 7:22:14 PM
I'd make a comment on the T-28, but it mirrors what you just said.No worries about the message - the game has a terrible notification system, so I always miss 'em too!Just got the KV myself, and I'm up to the 122mm gun and it's pretty eh... I think I need the derp 152mm or the 107mm to really make use of it.EDIT: Bought the suspension so I could mount the 122mm, but failed to mount the suspension, meaning I failed to mount the 122mm, meaning my impressions of the 122mm were based on the garbage 75mm stock gun Review of the 122mm: Much better - not as good as the 152mm looks, but much better [Edited on November 8, 2011 at 8:30 PM.
