Are there any of the aforementioned in the Raleigh/Cary area? I am shooting a film this weekend and am searching for an abandoned warehouse or building to shoot in. Please let me know if you have seen any in the area.

I know of an abandoned building in downtown Durham but you'll probably get arrested/shot if you try to enter it

Id check out the warehouse district downtown...however, most of them are locked tight due to the homeless people...off of south saunders there are a few old buildings as well.

If that doesnt work I'd cruise down some backroad like lake wheeler and look for some. There used to be an old barn my ex did photoshoots out of in Cary but they tore it down.

Just drive down a backroad and see what you find, ask a farmer too...they are more than willing to help.

your best bet is heading east on 40 to one of the outlying towns.

There was an empty small airplane hangar we had a party in off trinity about ten years ago.

Do not remember how to get to it.

Hahaha

On 54 between Morrisville and Cary there's a couple of abandoned farmhouses and barns.

Thank you so much for the useful responses. I'm going to take your advice and check out south saunders and the warehouse district. I'll suggest 540 between morrisville and cary and see if the filmmaker is willing to shoot there. Thank you again.

Why not try calling some of the local commercial/industrial real estate developers? Most of those guys are just sitting on all kinds of empty buildings. It may take a little sweet talking though.
