My wife's Crapberry 8520 was crapping all over itself, and my phone number was due for an upgrade (odd, as I bought an iPhone 4 when they came out).So we looked around and she decided she liked the 9810. It's 4G and it has both the touchscreen and the keyboard (something she likes). We bought it, and they recommended we use the crapberry desktop manager to migrate everything over.AITO (As it turns out), the 8520 was never hooked up to the desktop manager before, so it took about 30 mins to upgrade that O/S to 5.0, and then a few more minutes to migrate to the Torch. Now all she needs is a good case.Any recommendations from people who have a Torch? Thanks!

Fuck. We don't need your cell phone history.

You have wasted kilobytes, man.Get out of my thread.

You have wasted more. Nobody cares about you blackberry torch syncing. And you didn't list what you want the case to do. Do you want a stand or do you want something indestructible?

why in God's name would you let her get another blackberry anything? The company is likely not going to be in existence by the time she qualifies for another upgrade.

because their keyboards are money. So is the email and messaging. And last but not least it's the only phone I've seen that you can have a record of almost everything fed into a single stream that's easily searchable. If my android phone didn't get better reception than my tour did I would have switched back. Still would. If android had an app to roll all my email addresses, text messages, and gTalk into one stream I'd pay like $40 for it.

there are other options than Android and Blackberry OS.In fact, if you care about the keyboard and email, pretty much ANYTHING is better than an Android handset.

Why use an acronym if you're just going to type out what it means anyway?

So, the wife continues to have problems with the Torch. Every caller she talks with hears a little static, even from the day we purchased the phone.Too freakin' bad she waited until after the 30-day return period.Anyway, the tech support guys told us to replace the sim card (didn't work). now they are saying to talk to the store guys and tell them we are having service issues with her phone. If that doesn't work, we are going to upgrade her account, get an iPhone 4S (for me ), let her have my iPhone 4, and probably sell the Torch. Gazelle is saying we can get $222 for it.

Store called a tech support biznotch who said to turn off Blue Tooth, or maybe get a new phone number.TURN OFF BLUETOOTH?!GET A NEW PHONE NUMBER?!Wife called me obviously upset, because she's started a business and the static and dropping call issues are impacting it.So I called a tech support rep, and they connected me to the next level of tech support. I explained to him the problems. He was infinitely more helpful. He opened a "case" to start documenting the issues (because I guess they hadn't done that the three previous calls to them?!). He said it doesn't make sense to disconnect BT or get a new number. He's going to see if the towers reported any errors in the calls my wife has made (reference some calls we have made between our phones and other calls).I suggested that we swap the sim card on her Torch back to the Curve (8520) to see if it helps, so we'll see what happens. This is honestly ridiculous. Each time we were talking with someone, they gave us a different answer.I'd rather not use my upgrade now, specifically because we JUST BOUGHT her phone. Yes, I realize it is a Crapberry, but it's a pretty new model, and we shouldn't have problems with it.So, I'm going to do some research if I can swap sim cards with the wife (I take the Torch for a little while and she take the iPhone) to see if that helps.

^searching is not what I want. A stream is what I want. Luckily I found an app to kinda do that. And with Texdro and wireless tether I feel a little less disappointed. But with Texdro working I almost want to get something with a bigger screen. Galaxy S2 or something.

iPhone uses a mini-sim, so not interchangeable. Also, just swapped the new sim card onto her old phone and still static and dropped calls.

My wife went to a conference in Nashville two weeks ago and said that after the conference, many of her business friends dropped AT&T in favor of Verizon becuase of the problems they have been having with their Crapberries and AT&T.It will soon be that time for us, as well.
