oh lawd...

question about gas price, and how Bachman will keep it <$2

Romney: have to develop our resources. Then we can have an impact on global energy prices.

yeah, no you can't.

eliminate any regulation that would control pollution, keep our food safe and our water clean. Basically the GOP wants the US to be colonized by corporations and our citizens' safety obliterated.

Frack the ground for gas until our tap water can be set on fire.

Ron paul is railing on HPV mandatory vaccinations

I don't really know enough about the subject, but I'm just happy to tune in as Ron Paul is talking.

I am glad that I missed that part of the debate. I likely would have broken something. How you people on the right can support this reckless, backward thinking is misguided and dangerous.

apparently Rick Perry is on the fire for being un-libertarian in passing a law requiring the HPV thing.

^In case you missed it, as governor of TX Rick Perry used an executive order mandating all females under a certain age be given HPV vaccinations. Ron Paul disagrees stating that government has no place regulating what medication a person should or shouldn't have to take. He also disagreed with the fact that Perry used an executive order to just create a law on a whim.

gingrich... for all his shortcomings, he seems to be the only one up there saying "you know what, fuck all this silliness. yall just talking bull. this is how it is lol." he seems like the comic troll, the gritty, cynical, yet experienced old wizard and i love it.

This is the second debate in a row where Gingrich has said something to the effect of "why are you trying to pit us against each other" which basically comes to "why are you trying to turn this into a debate instead of a 2 minute campaign speeches forum."

I'm a big RP supporter. He made a few good points tonight, but he really doesn't do very well in debates. It's a shame because he speaks from the heart and his words are full of knowledge, but he mumbles and shakes a lot. I fear the general public will write him off as too unpolished and unconventional, although imo, that's exactly what we need.

I think he's done well in debates in the past, but I think he did poorly in this one.

Plus, there's the entire tea party factor now. he was more radical then than he is now, since he's standing next to a bunch of crazies for this race.

that was quite worst possibly the response I've heard in a debate to a question by perry towards the climate issue. Perry reminded me of Billy Madison there

the liberal media is doing that because they know that Obama will probably wipe the floor with perry by making him out to be Dubya 2

Murderers, yes.

And SS is a Ponzi scheme. The fact that some people have benefited and enjoy it doesnt really matter, it is what it is.

I agree that the Libs will push for Perry so they can run against W again. (well try to) "Sure Ive spent a shitton of money and it didnt work out like I said. Yeah, I started another war, gitmo is still open, etc.... but Perry is a governor from texas folks...texas. " lol, I can see it now.

For a number of reasons, Perry is legitimately worse than Bush.

Admittedly though, Bush had a major similarity to Obama before office. They both didn't do much before they ran for the presidency. Obama had a disturbingly large number of absent votes. I think that Bush had fewer skeletons in 2000 than what Perry does right now. I'm not an expert, but I don't think that Bush's governorship was defined by decisive action. In fact, I don't even remember it being talked about very much.

Perry is different in that respect. I think that both Obama and Bush started out the prime time of their careers with the political golden spoon in hand. I think that Romney is likely the only current candidate who fits that characterization well.

Sure, there were people who benefited from it. But like all ponzi schemes they fall apart when the "new money" coming in cant cover the old money going out.

(and like Madoff who just took the money and blew it on other shit, well the govt does that too but it puts a nice note in a drawer that says IOU (yeah from the same group 14T in debt) and calls it a trust fund so people feel good that "their" money is safe.

Wow.

Before Obama ran for President, he was a one-third-term Senator from Illinois. He successfully sponsored legislation prohibiting the sale, distribution, and transfer of elemental mercury, and supporting the relief, security, and democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Before Bush ran for President, he was a two-term Governor of Texas (one of the top fifteen economies in the world) who successfully sponsored legislation for tort reform, increased education funding, set higher standards for schools, and reformed the criminal justice system of Texas.

Agreed. When he speaks, I tend to not cringe. I don't necessarily agree with everything he says, but at least he seems informed, not simply waving the flag of partisan topics... or just making up inane shit.

How many senators don't sponsor some legislation?

And that old "nay" vote he cast on raising the debt ceiling way back when didn't work out for him too well did it?

And just like his vote against he Iraq war, he had a history that fit the political desire of the nation at that time. It's easier to do this if you have a shorter political history. This is a fact of life. This is also a reason that a politician would much rather not take a stance on a given issue, in order to spread their net as wide as possible.

His actions and votes in the senate were perfectly aligned to get him to higher office. He's the kind of job candidate who's resume is sufficient, but gets hired because they like him in the interview. Just like Bush. The present field in the GOP primary has mostly people with a longer resume. These claims are pretty objective.

I tell you!

Oh, and I was mistaken about Gingrich doing away with national parks. He said turn 1/3 of Alaska into national parks and then rape and pillage the remaining Texas size portion of it.

Fuck him.

Hahahaha. I know. He looks like a damn deer in headlights that needs a swift kick in his chiseled face.

I will say, the area they all seemed to do shit on was immigration reform. Their stance was "Lets secure the border then we'll talk," is code for "I don't have a fucking idea." They even tried framing the question in the sense of "Ok, so the border is secured, then what," which was meant with the "well um, entitlements with paths and stuff, yeah..." It seemed that half of the people up there went to "we need to look at their criminal histories and stuff and take that into account."
