You should've included the dateline of that article.
11/15/2011 6:47:28 PM
Eddie Murphy backing out is old. The academy going with ultra safe Billy Crystal is the newsbut because you asked. Nov. 9th]
11/15/2011 6:49:28 PM
that is also old news
11/15/2011 7:04:08 PM
Eddie Murphy.Bring in younger crowd? Shake things up?Does. Not. Compute.
11/15/2011 7:28:52 PM
Bring back Hugh Jackman.
11/15/2011 7:44:50 PM
Justin Timberlake should host.I'm not kidding.
11/15/2011 8:36:20 PM
Just want to say that Brett Ratner SUUUUUUUUCKS.Also, I have no idea what will win best picture this year because it has been a pretty terrible year for movies. Maybe The Descendants by default since it's Clooney and Alexander Payne?
11/16/2011 6:11:06 AM
Oh come now...you know a Clint Eastwood directed biopic with Leonardo DiCaprio will win by default
11/16/2011 10:09:09 AM
I doubt itI've heard nothing but AWFUL things about that flick
11/16/2011 12:31:54 PM
Billy Who????
11/16/2011 12:37:11 PM
Tree of Life should definitely get a Best Picture nomination. Attack the Block deserves a slew of technical awards but almost certainly won't get them.
11/16/2011 12:43:02 PM
^Considering the fact that there are 10 nominations to dole out now instead of 5, Tree of Life will almost certainly get nominated. Hard to imagine the Academy giving the win to such an innately artsy film, but I'd be ecstatic if, for whatever reason, they did; it has easily been my favorite movie of the year thus far.
11/16/2011 1:08:29 PM
I would think that both Midnight in Paris and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close would get best picture nods as well. Also Elizabeth Olsen is this year's Jennifer Lawrence so I'd expect her to get a nod for Martha Marcy May Marlene.

1/24/2012 1:10:15 PM
Unbelievable that Extremely Loud and War Horse get best picture noms. Spielberg has the academy in his pocket.I guess I hope the Artist wins a lot.Disappointed at the lack of The Skin I Live In. Disappointed at the lack of Ryan Gosling but not surprised, his 3 performances all took votes away from each other.A JONAH HILL BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR WOULD BE AMAZING but Plummer's going to win.

^Don't forget Bridesmaids!! Melissa McCarthy for supporting actress and an original screenplay nomination for writers Kristin Wiig and Annie Mumolo
1/24/2012 4:26:13 PM
^^You left off Beginners, which along with Midnight in Paris were the two best movies of the year.]
1/24/2012 11:20:03 PM
"Academy Award-nominated actor Jonah Hill"All joking aside, he was great in Moneyball.
1/24/2012 11:33:34 PM
Oh snap, I hope Rooney Mara wins Best Actress

Honestly...I felt like 2011 was mostly garbage when it came to film....the only one I really wanted to see was Melancholia
1/25/2012 1:43:53 AM
If the only film you wanted to see in 2011 was Melancholia then you basically weren't paying much attention.
1/25/2012 2:59:44 AM
Kirsten Dunst's character really annoyed me in Melancholia
1/25/2012 11:35:51 AM
say what you want about the Tree of Life's story, but if this doesn't win best cinematography something is wrong...i had the pleasure of watching this film on Blu-Ray on a 64 inch top of the line plasma and DAMN...even more impressive they shot it with only natural light

1/25/2012 2:43:08 PM
1/25/2012 3:11:19 PM
Oh my bad. Those are two outrageous choices.

He was a baseball Ast GM that graduated from Yale. How much more difficult can you get?
1/26/2012 8:57:52 AM
He played a computer nerd. That's it. Not difficult. He already looked like someone who averages over 200+ posts a day on TWW.[Edited on January 26, 2012 at 9:15 AM. Reason : .]
1/26/2012 9:14:38 AM
He did an adequate job in his role, but was not an award winning performance.
1/26/2012 9:36:29 AM
I saw Moneyball last night, good stuff.Jonah Hill was OK but most of his performance just seemed like blankly staring at things. Brad Pitt was good. Better than Descendants Clooney

We should probably rescind Kevin Spacey's Oscar for playing every suburban father ever, then.
1/27/2012 6:08:57 PM
American Beauty was vastly overrated.
1/27/2012 7:08:17 PM
So was Godfather I and II. III was pretty good.
1/27/2012 10:37:45 PM
^ Wrong. I know it's the hippest latest thing these past few years to call The Godfather overrated, but it's simply not the case. No idea where it started...maybe that Family Guy episode where they're in the safe room?...but I do agree III was okay.
