I got rear-ended a few weeks ago and got it repaired at a local body shop. When I picked the car up, they told me not to use an automatic carwash for the next 90 days since they put new paint on it.I have a membership to a carwash place as I live in a condo and don't have a hose to do it myself. Anyone know if the 90 day estimate was valid or if it's ok to take it to a carwash?

just hand wash it yourself it will be okay.

A quick handwash using a good soft cloth or mitt and carwash soap will be infinitely better for it than any automatic car wash. I'd prefer to let it set up for even longer than that before being subjected to mechanical abuse. And NO WAX!The body shop folks do know what they're talking about. Be kind to your new paint.

Good to hear, just wanted to make sure on the timeline. I'll have to find somewhere to hand wash it since I don't have a house/house/etc.
