Is there a device that will let me branch off the audio signal or change the signal so that it will play audio on my computer speakers, or a receiver in the family room, or speakers in another room?

My computer only has one audio out slot, but it'd be nice to easily play music on iTunes from speakers in other areas of the house without unplugging cords each time.

The trick here is if you're looking for all of the audio sources to play at once (semi-synced) or are you just looking for playback. You could grab a bluetooth receiver or any of a billion network playback devices compatible with iTunes to handle async- playback. If you want synched you'll need either a system with a master transmitter and several receivers (Sony makes nice ones, Rocketfish from best buy has some low cost setups) or you'll need a distribution amplifier and to run some actual cable.
