My first thought was to jump on TWW on confirm that I wasn't randomly feeling things or it was just my office.

There are about 20 people standing in the office parking lot now, haha

Cary felt it. You must have been doing jumping jacks or something.

At first I thought I just had a neighbor who was just having some wild sex.

Wow, that's pretty insane to have felt it.

Yeah, the whole RBC building on the Betline vibrated for a few seconds. It was slightly unnerving.

body: No shit the floor was swaying. Lasted only a few seconds but it was felt from NY to NC

i was just on the phone with her. would have been trippy if i was still on the line when it happened

My sister in Charlotte felt it as well.

I walked out of my office when my monitor started jumping, and only one other person noticed it.

but our building is always shaking a little bit... just not for as long as this went.

No shit, that's what that was?

I live in New Bern, and my house didn't exactly shake where you could noticeably feel it, but I heard a bunch of creaking and noises like you'd hear in a really gusty windstorm. I looked outside to see if it'd gotten really windy, and thought...hmm, doesn't look like nearly enough to shake my house.

So, reading some blog, and apparently they said the east coast crust isnt the double bagger the west coast is, and since the crust isnt busted, it transmits shockwaves really well.

^Just talked to one of my Rock friends and he says that it was really close to the surface and is another reason why we felt it so much...there was no padding to collect the vibration compared to if it was say 10 miles deep instead of the 3 that it was.

pair that with a pretty in tact fault line and it was felt a long ways.

still cool.

ah...good times Mike

Felt it in Rocky Mount for 5 or so seconds. On the second floor so you could feel it more. Confirmed shaking felt in Fort Mill, South Carolina, as well.

I may be the only person at my workplace who didn't feel it. Everyone else was talking about it and I was rather surprised.

Easily felt in DC. First thought it was a scaffolding accident, then a bomb, then finally an earthquake. No apparent damage: just lost productivity as office workers used it as an excuse to go home.

I'm waiting to hear someone on the news say "at first I thought a bomb had gone off"

Like we all know exactly what a bomb going off feels like

Just wait, its inevitable - all instability these days is immediately associated with "a bomb going off"

Felt it here in Hickory and thought I was losing my mind. Strangely, the guys in my office all felt it and stood up to look in each others' office but none of the women felt it.

Felt it in NOVA.

I thought at first someone was shaking on of the walls of my cubical and I turned around to see who was there. Once in awhile some douche does that.
