I'm pretty sure this type of job violates the 13th amendment.

I'm sure Greg Hyer would do this for you

Sounds like the sales manager doesnt want to put in the time to get new contacts and clients, so he will take advantage on somebody that thinks this will actually benefit their career. Are there credits involved? What is the company? I would assume that since it is a sales position, it is not non-profit.Why the hell would somebody do all of the marketing work so somebody else can make money off of it?and im pretty sure this is illegal

what a shitty job.

^^What's illegal about it? There are unpaid internships in just about any field. You're getting paid with "experience" and all that BS.

Then wouldn't every unpaid intern violate those rules? And where are those "rules" from?
8/23/2011 2:34:01 PM
^The "Dept of Labor"

Hah. If those are actually rules, instead of tips, as the article calls them, then every legal internship out there that is unpaid is illegal (and a great majority of legal internships are unpaid).

I took place in an illegal internship during college

Shit I should get an unpaid intern to do all the work I don't want to do.
8/24/2011 7:45:09 PM
^I think that's what most places do

One time, I took this summer internship and they paid me in food. Suffice to say, they grossly underestimated how much a skinny Asian kid can eat, specially when it's free. Even now, the boss there still emails me from time to time and asks if I can still hold the fort down. I always respond with "you pay for the buffet and I'll put a 300lb slob to shame"
