Lone Star on Wake Forest Rd.

That gelato place where the bubble tea place is now off Pogue

Lucky 32 used to have 2 restaurants - one in Raleigh and one in Cary. they closed the one in Raleigh and kept the one in Cary open. so it didn't move per say - they just closed the Raleigh location

the more you know

i'm sad the brathaus is closing. Toms House always talked about it and i wanted to try it out.

There was also a Lucky 32 in Greensboro. No idea if it's still there or not though.

I really miss Rockola... not because it was the best food ever, but I used to live at Wood Hall when I started at state and we would go down there a ton. Then when i got an apartment in the area I'd go there a lot too.

Brothers was good too... we used to go there in high school before football games for our team meal. I'm sad that it went downhill and closed.

Darryl's was one of my favorite places to go as a kid... my aunt would take me there and we would always request one of the special booths like car or whatnot.

Ballentines cafeteria in cameron village was good on occasion and had a lot of history. (literally... there were tons of raleigh senior citizens in there all the time!)

Veal isn't cheap. On the other hand their bratwurst dishes are quite reasonable in price. And they also had a few German beers on tap that you can't get anywhere else in the area

This is really really old school...
but does anyone remember "Aloha" at Cary Village Mall (before it became Cary Towne Center).

It was, obviously, hawaiian themed but they had chinese food as well...and GREAT

True, and true...on the last two, i still think the schnitzel should have been cheaper. i went there for a groupon party once (earlier on groupon invited invited triangle people who spend too much money on groupons) and it was an open taps for 2.5-3 hours. i was in heaven.

was their schnitzel veal? seems like a lot of places use pork. problem was all of their entrees were $23 or whatever, even chicken and beef. there was no variance at all.

Original Brothers, best pizza in town.

Went there for just about every birthday til I got to college, which is when it went downhill.

Colorados, in what became Sakura Express. They had decent burgers.

Baxley's. I never ate there, but it was in the little house that became Marakkesh, and then whatever it is now.

Was that before or after it was a Starbucks? Because if it was after it couldn't have lasted very long at all.

We're talking at least 70s-whenever Starbucks was there. They catered the NC State Basketball camp when I was there in the 90s, I know.

Anyone else remember the Capital Room? Not just the one at Crabtree, but also the downtown location? Good roast beef there. Also, there was this other snack bar in the downtown Belks that had good grilled cheese.
