that does look pretty good, but i have to say, i was hoping this thread would be about this Drive http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116147/ highly underrated action awesomeness
8/3/2011 7:14:13 PM
haha this movie unfortunately does NOT feature Kadeem Hardison.
8/3/2011 7:21:52 PM
^^ AGREED... LOVED THAT MOVIE
8/4/2011 11:04:59 PM
in what blighted world is Ryan Gosling superior to Jason Statham?
8/4/2011 11:30:36 PM
We agree on a lot of things. But the transporter rules hard
8/4/2011 11:39:02 PM
8/4/2011 11:48:16 PM
we live in that world and statham is still > gosling
8/5/2011 12:53:58 AM
Are you kidding me? Statham plays one character over and over again, he has no range. And even if you think Statham is better than Gosling the supporting cast of this movie blows The Transporter out of the water. I doubt any of you could name a single actor in The Transporter other than Statham without cheating.
8/5/2011 1:05:46 AM
i'll have to see this. the Pusher movies are great.

I too enjoy the transporter series. This should be enjoyable to watch as well.

9/15/2011 3:38:33 PM
Saw this today and really enjoyed it. Not as "action-y" as the trailer would have you believe but I knew that going in. The music was fantastic and all the LA night scenes were done quite well.**possible spoiler**Going in I did not know that there would be like, a Watchmen amount of gore. Seriously every death is an awesome bloody mess.
9/17/2011 1:46:56 AM
I thought it was over rated garbage.
9/18/2011 12:00:25 AM
i was blown away by this movie. absolutely loved it.[Edited on September 18, 2011 at 1:46 AM. Reason : oh and the soundtrack is fantastic.]

This was a very, very cool movie. Very stylish and well-done. Probably the most inventive and creative movie I've seen come out of this genre (I'm very hesitant to call it an "action movie") in a long time. And Ryan Gosling is a much, much, much better actor than Jason Statham (that said, it is definitely like comparing apples and oranges). I like Gosling a lot.[Edited on September 19, 2011 at 2:34 PM. Reason : s]

This was a mesmerizing film...it reminded me alot of Michael Mann's early films, just oozing style and atmosphere. The performances in general were really good, and Albert Brooks in particular was great. I loved the soundtrack and score too. Nicolas Winding Refn is a really talented director, his and Gosling's next film sounds awesome and insane.
9/28/2011 1:35:29 AM
It wasn't at all what i expected, but i thoroughly enjoyed it. This shouldn't even be compared to The Transporter at all. It fell into a void space between a drama and an action movie (action, based off the driving and violence scenes).
9/28/2011 9:45:46 AM
i thought this was a great movie.stomping that dude out in the elevator was definitely gut-wrenching with the squishing noises.i had a hard time at first separating Bryan Cranston's character Shannon from Walter White. seems like all he has done since Malcom in the Middle is Breaking Bad and Drive.i will recommend this movie to anyone that asks about it.

Saw this yesterday and absolutely loved it. The soundtrack and production was fantastic and it is one of those movies that I continue to think about well after I finished watching it. Love the lack of dialog.
10/2/2011 12:54:45 PM
Watched it last night. Very good. Mulligan was cute as well.Definitely a little graphic, but at least I was prepared for that.

ThanksGot this from RedboxSPOILERSWas awesome. I did think some of the silent parts stretched a bit too long. Also I rewound the part where he was interrogating that chick in the hotel like 3 times and turned the volume all the way up, still couldn't tell what she said. Also I didn't really understand what the part with him threatening the redneck dude in the diner was supposed to show us.
2/8/2012 9:07:09 PM
I mean from The Italian Job, to The Transporter, to Crank, Jason Statham has certainly showed his range and ability to play a variety of roles. While he has been in a few decent movies, and isn't particularly bad in them, don't confuse that with having any real talent for acting. The man is as one-dimensional as they come, and not even noteworthy at that capacity. The only people that rate Jason Statham as an actor are people who will see any movie, so long as it has a fast car in it.
2/9/2012 1:53:18 AM
^^ haven't seen it since the theater, but I believe the thing in the diner was the first time he got real gritty with someone. It showed us it was business to him, he wasn't trying to be these guys' buddy and he wasn't messing around when it came to other people putting him in a bad spot. He didn't fully go off on the guy, but it showed the audience that potential and his willingness to take things to a different level.

I liked it even though it was a bit slow in parts. I actually kind liked the slow pace of it between exciting parts; gives me time to digest wtf just happened and reflect just as the character does. Very old school way of telling a story. Plus the opening scene was pretty cool and exciting to watch, felt like you were actually committing the crime with them.My two biggest disappointment with the film is that there wasn't enough car chases (considering the movie is called drive... he's mostly parked) and the quiet death of Cranston in the garage.
2/9/2012 2:22:38 AM
You praise the quiet, patient storytelling, then promptly decry the lack of explosions and a quiet death.WHICH IS IT
2/9/2012 2:29:46 AM
That death scene affected me more than the other ones tbh. I thought it was awesome.Don't worry. That's it. It's done. There's no pain, it's over...
