Just stumbled across this relatively recent (though billions of years old, in internet time) article:

yes it is timeDaniel Craig was meh at bestI personally like this change up. Turkish could play a pretty good Bond.
8/2/2011 8:30:14 PM
eh i don't see it
8/2/2011 8:31:41 PM
what the hell's wrong with daniel craig? and i'm fairly certain bond needs some hair
8/2/2011 8:53:27 PM
yeah, i was gonna say i dont recall a buzzed-heat Bond and i dont see Statham growing hair lol
8/2/2011 8:57:18 PM
Statham has a quick-wit type of character styleThe Bond role needs someone who is smooth, relaxed and in controlI think Craig is doing just fine
8/2/2011 9:05:48 PM
craig was a decent bond, the last movie was just a complete piece of shit rivaling the ice shit with haley berry in total shittage
8/2/2011 9:16:36 PM
Craig is still doing Bond #23 folks FYI
8/2/2011 10:09:11 PM
buzzed-head rather
8/2/2011 10:10:59 PM
i predict bird-haired Nic Cage is the new dopple-hoe-saffen
8/2/2011 10:16:35 PM
as much as Quantum of Solace blew butthole, Casino Royale was fucking awesome, so i'll let his third bond movie sway meCraig says he's more excited about this next one than he was for Casino Royale
8/2/2011 10:17:13 PM
Jason Statham can't do a bond movie because they don't usually involve at least 45 minutes of high speed car chases.
8/2/2011 11:16:54 PM
Craig is an awesome Bond. And I like Statham...but I don't think he could pull it off.
8/3/2011 2:15:20 AM
I LOVE the 007 movies, but I'm pretty sure I'll call it quits if Statham ever becomes bond. He is no where close, and comes off douchy. Craig is a pretty good bond
8/3/2011 4:07:35 AM
i am, for some reason, addicted to Jason Statham movies. I love them all, but i'll be quick to say he's not right for Bond. I personally am still in the Clive Owen camp and would love to see him play the role at least once before he becomes too old. I'm perfectly happy with Craig, Quantum of Solace was terrible but that's not his fault.
8/3/2011 7:55:38 AM
clive owen is someone i could see doing it, but craig has a really good mix of suave and brutality that fits the role well
8/3/2011 8:16:28 AM
Craig absolutely has been the truest to the Sean Connery roots so far. Suave, intelligent, but deadly serious and brutal.None of this chuckles the clown Roger Moore shit or pretty boy Brosnan
8/3/2011 8:26:09 AM
^agreed 100%
8/3/2011 9:10:24 AM
Although the Brosnan and Moore eras couldve been better I don't have any major issues with the way any of the 6 have played Bond. Craig's great though, I loved CR and liked QoS alright even though the script was so rushed. Everything sounds great for Bond 23 though. I'd like to see Craig do 1 or 2 more after this one, but there's zero chance Statham gets the role. A lot of pretty ridiculous names were thrown around back in '05.
8/3/2011 9:13:13 AM
Just hope there is no more texas holdem poker, parkour or whatever else is popular at the time - stuff like that really dates the movies
8/3/2011 9:24:13 AM
Daniel Craig is a good as James Bond. Quantum of Solace was just not a great movie. He worked with what he had. I do really enjoy how violent Craig is though... most of the other guys to play James Bond would only throw a few punches here and there but the opening scene to Casino Royale when he is beating the hell out of that guy in the bathroom was awesome.btw, George Lazenby was totally the best Bond.
8/3/2011 9:25:19 AM
bring back Timothy Dalton
8/3/2011 1:18:24 PM
Unless Bond is supposed to be (solely) a cheesy, cliche', pretty boy then Daniel Craig has done an amazing job. Craig's Bond is cold, calculating, suave and completely badass. Just imagine Goldeneye with Daniel Craig. Wow...
8/3/2011 2:07:16 PM
I actually liked Timothy Dalton
8/3/2011 2:17:47 PM
Ryan Reynolds
8/3/2011 2:20:15 PM
i was thinking more russell brand
8/3/2011 2:27:37 PM
^^^ ditto
8/3/2011 2:36:41 PM
8/3/2011 2:49:44 PM
Haha. Well damn.
8/3/2011 3:34:16 PM
8/3/2011 4:42:38 PM
I say let Craig do two more movies, then let Orlando Bloom bridge the gap for a few films until Daniel Radcliffe takes over long term in 2023.
8/3/2011 4:47:11 PM
Lmao
8/3/2011 6:46:52 PM
Or....
8/3/2011 6:56:12 PM
Jason Statham's brand of action films would teeter the bond franchise over the edge from "over the top but semi-plausible" action movie to "this shit would only be possible in the absence of gravity/physics" retardation
8/3/2011 8:22:44 PM
^ Either you've only seen the Crank/Transporter series, or you've forgotten about some of his more "realistic" movies, most of which are, on a scale of 1 to 10, "pretty good".
