I love their frozen mac and cheese. Sooooooooooooo good.

Today I tried their frozen green curry for the first time. It was surprisingly spicy considering they usually go mild on that sort of stuff. Would eat again.

Their instant pad thai on the other day was

Their sushi sucks. Bunch of imitation crab meat bullshit. I'd rather them just not offer it.

^^ I tried that a couple weeks ago and it is indeed tasty. Not as good as what I make but does the trick when I'm hungry at work.

Their guilt-free brownie mix is awesome as well.

and i remembered the name of that other asian lunch thing.."kung pao"...it is good, have a drink handy though

they have a pretty good margherita pizza and bbq chicken pizza, i like the turkey sausage, the pizza dough is good and pretty healthy (wheat)

They have these cookies called "carrot cake cookies" that are awesome...it is 2 cookies with a cream in the middle...

The spicy hummus is really good.

Soy and flaxseed tortilla chips as well, especially with guacamole. They always seem to have the perfect ripeness avacados for that btw.

I've actually only been to this place once, and it was just because I get tired of people flipping out when they ask if I've ever been and I say no.

I bought a 17 cent banana (which was good) and like 5 bottles of wine.

I really like the herbed turkey breast slices.

Seaweed snack sheet things are interesting. They give you the satisfaction of kind of crunching on something without being as caloric as chips.

They used to have a wild mushroom blend (fresh) that I enjoyed a lot, but of course they discontinued it right after I first tried it.

Harvest gran blend is great.

I need to avoid going there on my lunch break when I haven't eaten because the section with the sandwiches/salads/sushi etc. always looks so good. One time I got the chicken curry salad, and it kind of sucked.

Sunflower seed butter might be my favorite thing ever and I am not even the biggest nut butter fan.

My friend bough chili spiced pineapple or something like that there and it was too spicy for her. I liked it in an odd, I don't really know why I am eating this kind of way.

[Edited on August 2, 2011 at 9:08 PM. Reason : pineapple]

I would think the Cary one is closer to campus.

Tonight we ate the Everything Mini Crackers or whatever it's called. They have sesame, caraway, and poppy seeds. Nom nom.

Italian truffle cheese did not have much flavor. Double gloucester chive and onion cheese was pretty good and makes really tasty cheese toast.

Jalapeno hot sauce is flavorful and surprisingly decently spicy, and it takes a lot for me to say that. Habanero lime tortillas also have more spice to them than I expected in a good way.

I am curious about their soyaki sauce. Anyone tried it? And that reminds me for some reason, the eggplant garlic (or whatever its actual name is) spread is amazing and I don't even like eggplant.

Yes, it is very good...it's sold under a different label for twice the price at Whole Foods and Fresh Market.

the avjar(roasted red pepper spread) is spicy but yummy
chimichurri rice is delicious
the pot stickers are great, so are the mini chicken cilantro wontons
the penne peperonata and penne arrabiata are great
so far i like the apple chicken sausages

the goat cheese medalions are handy if you dont want to buy a whole log of goat cheese.

the sparkling limeade is great

the yellow thai curry sauce is better than the red curry sauce

i will have to try to remember my other fav stuff from TJ's

There was a dark skinned / indianish 18 year old bagger with piercings at Trader Joe's in Cary that did a horrible job bagging my stuff a couple days ago

He must have put 20 lbs of stuff, including wine bottles without the individual bags, into a single bag, packed to the top

I'm assuming it was his first day bagging or something

I've had a few of their beers, and I thought all of them were terrible.
It's probably time I actually go the store and do some shopping for myself though. Like the OP, I hear the mac and cheese is excellent.

Some their beer is pretty good/decent. The wife likes their blueberry beer the most.

Most of their food is decent to good, at least from what I've tried.

The chocolate dipped chocolate chip dunker cookies were pretty good. They had a secondary flavor of almonds which wasn't bad.

^^ I haven't seen rabbit there but I haven't actively looked either. Personally I go to the farmers market for that sort of stuff.

Yeah, their alcohol is so hit or miss I just avoid it at this point. My husband got one of the canned pilsners the other night when we were there though and said it's surprisingly alright. But I don't think that's saying a whole lot

I don't mind the three buck Chuck, but all the other wines less than $7ish there I have had have been no bueno.

Also, the aforementioned Italian truffle cheese molds incredibly fast, apparently.

They carry 22s of Mission Street Hefeweizen which is an awesome beer for the price. I'm in Trader Joe's probably 2-3 times / week (it's 1 mile from my house in Cary, so the default grocery store for us), so I'm well versed on their offerings.

Also, list of good stuff to eat there:

- Hofbrau brats - these are the best thing in the meat section, by far. Marinated in Hofbrau beer, they are incredibly tasty
- Chocolate covered espresso beans (1/2 the price of Whole Foods)
- Frozen breaded chicken breasts, great for making wraps or chicken parmesan
- "Indian Fare" boxed Indian dishes. Have yet to eat one that wasn't good.
- Frozen Vegetable Samsosas, great paired with the dishes above and the Mango Chutney
- Garlic Naan, also great paired with the 2 above
- Cilantro-Jalapeno Hummus + TJ's Pita Chips
- Organic Peanut Butter (the kind that's only peanuts). Taste 10x better than any other natural peanut butter I've eaten. Not sure why, but it's the best out there.
- Organic Tomatillo Roasted Yellow Chili Salsa. One of the best canned salsas I've ever had.

I could keep going, but those are some of my favorites.

Frozen burritos
Pot stickers...these are our ultimate favorite. Since finding these we eat then a lot.
Pineapple salsa
Superfruit jam
Hummus
I like a lot of their juices...esp their lemonade and lemonade blends
Reduced guilt pita chips
Their prebreaded eggplant parm slices sure do make it easy
There's a premade chicken, feta and avocado salad that is yummy as well
Vanilla ice cream
