I love their frozen mac and cheese. Sooooooooooooo good.Today I tried their frozen green curry for the first time. It was surprisingly spicy considering they usually go mild on that sort of stuff. Would eat again.Their instant pad thai on the other day was

Their sushi sucks. Bunch of imitation crab meat bullshit. I'd rather them just not offer it.
8/2/2011 7:11:39 PM

8/2/2011 7:19:08 PM
Is the cary trader joes pretty much the same as the Raleigh one?
8/2/2011 7:19:27 PM
I destroy their cornbread and and penne arrabiata like it is my destiny. Their chimmichurri is damn good, too.
8/2/2011 7:20:20 PM
paneer and chicken tikkah masala with naan bread is pretty good
8/2/2011 7:25:12 PM
my bf bought us some mini mint ice cream sandwiches.... INCREDIBLE(they were so refreshing and delicious... prob great to take with you to the pool but in this heat they'd melt in .02 seconds)[Edited on August 2, 2011 at 7:27 PM. Reason : .]

The spicy hummus is really good.Soy and flaxseed tortilla chips as well, especially with guacamole. They always seem to have the perfect ripeness avacados for that btw.
8/2/2011 7:28:31 PM
Three buck chuck - about the same as the three buck wal-mart wine
8/2/2011 7:32:33 PM
The Cary one is the same, except more spacious and therefore not miserable to be in.
8/2/2011 8:06:52 PM
These are amazing...chocolate granola bar things.[Edited on August 2, 2011 at 8:24 PM. Reason : image fail lol]

i want some dried hibiscus flowers
8/2/2011 8:24:18 PM
I've actually only been to this place once, and it was just because I get tired of people flipping out when they ask if I've ever been and I say no.I bought a 17 cent banana (which was good) and like 5 bottles of wine.
8/2/2011 8:33:22 PM
Frozen burritos are $$£$$And the chocolate covered banana bites are also awesome.
8/2/2011 8:37:49 PM
organic sugar and fat hahai hope their produce section has gotten better/more reasonably priced.
8/2/2011 8:37:50 PM
Their honey chevre (goat cheese) is amazing, I don't go there nearly enough though Is there a nearer one to campus other than the one off Wake Forest?
8/2/2011 8:46:24 PM
they have a chicken salad with almonds and currants that makes me
8/2/2011 8:57:12 PM
their frozen sweet potato fries are delicious
8/2/2011 9:00:35 PM
I really like the herbed turkey breast slices. Seaweed snack sheet things are interesting. They give you the satisfaction of kind of crunching on something without being as caloric as chips. They used to have a wild mushroom blend (fresh) that I enjoyed a lot, but of course they discontinued it right after I first tried it. Harvest gran blend is great. I need to avoid going there on my lunch break when I haven't eaten because the section with the sandwiches/salads/sushi etc. always looks so good. One time I got the chicken curry salad, and it kind of sucked. Sunflower seed butter might be my favorite thing ever and I am not even the biggest nut butter fan.My friend bough chili spiced pineapple or something like that there and it was too spicy for her. I liked it in an odd, I don't really know why I am eating this kind of way. [Edited on August 2, 2011 at 9:08 PM. Reason : pineapple]

Trader Joe's tandoori naan = Everything else I've had is solid
8/2/2011 9:09:32 PM
They have some very solid wine for cheap. (Not three buck chuck, but others in the 4-8 dollar buck range)
8/2/2011 10:07:47 PM
this, this Trader Joe's......What is this?
8/2/2011 10:28:00 PM
8/2/2011 10:28:39 PM
I remember driving by the "original" location in Pasadena. That parking lot is a war.
8/2/2011 10:37:08 PM
Their pot stickers are pretty damn good.
8/2/2011 10:58:55 PM
Porto Morgado... especially the 10 year old Tawny. Delicious!
8/2/2011 11:13:47 PM
trader joe's is populated by douchesthat being said, the frozen chicken massaman is pretty good
8/2/2011 11:24:22 PM
Italian truffle cheese did not have much flavor. Double gloucester chive and onion cheese was pretty good and makes really tasty cheese toast. Jalapeno hot sauce is flavorful and surprisingly decently spicy, and it takes a lot for me to say that. Habanero lime tortillas also have more spice to them than I expected in a good way. I am curious about their soyaki sauce. Anyone tried it? And that reminds me for some reason, the eggplant garlic (or whatever its actual name is) spread is amazing and I don't even like eggplant.
8/2/2011 11:37:01 PM
Never been. It always sounded like it would be an old truck stop to me based on the name.

8/3/2011 12:42:52 AM
There was a dark skinned / indianish 18 year old bagger with piercings at Trader Joe's in Cary that did a horrible job bagging my stuff a couple days agoHe must have put 20 lbs of stuff, including wine bottles without the individual bags, into a single bag, packed to the topI'm assuming it was his first day bagging or something
8/3/2011 1:00:01 AM
Pot stickers are goodChicken salad is good w/ their crackersI've been told their pizza crust is the bomb.
8/3/2011 1:21:33 AM
I've had a few of their beers, and I thought all of them were terrible. It's probably time I actually go the store and do some shopping for myself though. Like the OP, I hear the mac and cheese is excellent.
8/3/2011 1:36:13 AM
Some their beer is pretty good/decent. The wife likes their blueberry beer the most. Most of their food is decent to good, at least from what I've tried. The chocolate dipped chocolate chip dunker cookies were pretty good. They had a secondary flavor of almonds which wasn't bad.
8/3/2011 1:39:31 AM
do they ever have rabbit meat or anything
8/3/2011 1:55:53 AM
Just got a Trader Joe's in Charleston. This thread is now relevant to my interests.
8/3/2011 9:15:43 AM
^^ I haven't seen rabbit there but I haven't actively looked either. Personally I go to the farmers market for that sort of stuff.
8/3/2011 9:27:15 AM
I don't mind the three buck Chuck, but all the other wines less than $7ish there I have had have been no bueno. Also, the aforementioned Italian truffle cheese molds incredibly fast, apparently.
8/3/2011 9:28:50 AM
They carry 22s of Mission Street Hefeweizen which is an awesome beer for the price. I'm in Trader Joe's probably 2-3 times / week (it's 1 mile from my house in Cary, so the default grocery store for us), so I'm well versed on their offerings. Also, list of good stuff to eat there:- Hofbrau brats - these are the best thing in the meat section, by far. Marinated in Hofbrau beer, they are incredibly tasty- Chocolate covered espresso beans (1/2 the price of Whole Foods)- Frozen breaded chicken breasts, great for making wraps or chicken parmesan- "Indian Fare" boxed Indian dishes. Have yet to eat one that wasn't good.- Frozen Vegetable Samsosas, great paired with the dishes above and the Mango Chutney- Garlic Naan, also great paired with the 2 above- Cilantro-Jalapeno Hummus + TJ's Pita Chips- Organic Peanut Butter (the kind that's only peanuts). Taste 10x better than any other natural peanut butter I've eaten. Not sure why, but it's the best out there.- Organic Tomatillo Roasted Yellow Chili Salsa. One of the best canned salsas I've ever had.I could keep going, but those are some of my favorites.
8/3/2011 11:44:22 AM

Since finding these we eat then a lot.Pineapple salsaSuperfruit jamHummusI like a lot of their juices...esp their lemonade and lemonade blendsReduced guilt pita chipsTheir prebreaded eggplant parm slices sure do make it easyThere's a premade chicken, feta and avocado salad that is yummy as wellVanilla ice cream
