I recently learned that there i a North Carolina law called the NC CAA (Comprehensive Articulation Agreement) that allows any student transferring into a UNC system university with an AA or AS from an NC community college to bypass all the GEP courses that would normally be required. http://www.ncsu.edu/registrar/curricula/advising/caa.htmlCheck your degree audits, if it does not say "GEP met through NC CAA" and you have an associate's degree talk to your advisor. It didn't show up on mine until I mentioned it to someone. This is going to save me about a year's worth of classes I don't really need. Hopefully this will be helpful to someone else out there too.

Completing an AA doesn't necessarily mean that you'll be able to transfer in the Gen Ed core, nor do you necessarily have to complete the AA to transfer in the Gen Ed core. Even if they do transfer, they may not meet all the requirements for your program. Transfers are fickle bitches...
