Fantasy football advise thread is idle, so I figured I would take a chance and start up a thread. If someone else would rather start the thread, feel free to lock, delete, etc.But with the possibility of a gentleman's agreement between the owners and players by next week, I figured I would see if there was any interest in a TWW league this year.I have no preference, $$$ league or fun league, ESPN or yahoo...really doesn't matter to me.

Poor college student, but I'm up for it. Need something to take my mind off this injury-ridden fantasy baseball season.

I have no problem setting up the league on ESPN....thoughts on league size, 12 teams?

Unless someone else wants to start the league manager.. I will need to know if anyone has any league setting preferences, or scoring setting preferences, roster size, positions, etc. I am pretty sure that ESPN locks your settings when league is created.

Yahoo has new scoring categories this yearLong yardage bonuses are gay, but I do like that you can give negative points for QBs for TAINTs

^^I saw they also allow draft pick trades in franchise leagues as well, pretty cool.[Edited on July 7, 2011 at 1:08 PM. Reason : ^]

I was in a league with bonus points for td's over 40 yards a few years back...and the losers each week had to pay the winner $.50 for every point they lost by....It was the epic Brady/Moss year too which made for some interesting weeks.not sure if i would recommend it or not
7/7/2011 1:13:32 PM
^My fiance's dad plays in a league that sounds similar. I think they paid an inital entry fee ,then $1 to your opponent for every point you lost by...then gave entry fee money to 1st and 2nd place.

I'm in a keeper league with some other guys from tww. My team went 11-1 last year but I got upset and lost in the finals. Anyways, I was wondering if any of you have experience in keepers leagues. Last year was our first year doing it and we've had some arguments about how we are going to assign keepers, etc.Right now its setup such that anybody you want to keep is worth two draft picks lower (better) than where you drafted him. Nobody drafted in the first two rounds can be kept. Any free agents are worth a 12th round pick. You can keep up to three players. All new players are entered into a seperate drawing for the top draft spots and everyone else is entered into a drawing for the rest of the spots. If you decide to keep two free agents they will take your 12th and 11th round picks, and any players you acquire via trade will apply to whichever round they were drafted in.Under that system my keepers will be Michael Vick, Legarrette Blount and Lesean McCoy. Vick and Blount were free agent pick-ups and I got McCoy in a trade, but he fell to the 10th round in last years draft. So Vick will be my 12th round pick, Blount will be my 11th and McCoy will be my 8th. I'm liking my chances. anyone have any suggestions for a different way to set up the league, what have you done in the past?
7/19/2011 5:33:35 PM
just keep 2 each, thats it. Keeps the draft (the best part of the season) fun and very meaningful.

with 12 team leagues, do you usually do 4 or 6 playoff teams?
