Damn you. I grew up with that shit in my blood...it's been 13 years since the last time I got to do that in a bonafide drag car (6.0x 1/8ths). Guesses if he was on a 5.53 or a 6.53?

does the gopro hero automatically record over the oldest footage once space on the SD card is full? i dont see it say anything about that on its website.

^^^ No, it just beeps and stops...or maybe there's a way to change settings and make it overwrite like that, but no, it at least defaults to just stopping when full.

I'd been looking at the ebay MD80 cameras for a while, but I just ordered one of these 808 #11 cameras for use as a helmet cam instead. The R/C airplane guys are going crazy for it. Takes 720p video, up to 32GB cards, which is like 8 hours of video. They run about $50.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uj26JjSiazQThere are lots of different 808 keychain camera models that all look alike, but the only ones with this quality are the #11 models. The regular has 45min battery life, the "jumbo" model has 90minutes.It's been partially hacked here, with people adding fisheye lenses and changing the firmware. As far as I know no one's been able to do overwriting continuous recording yet, but with a big enough card the battery will run out first or you can plug it in to 12V and just clear the card once a day.http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1362692The gopro is still slightly better quality, but the colors really pop on these 808 #11's.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqfPm5aLYxk&feature=player_embeddedI really shouldn't be watching lotus 7 videos. Here's a similar camera that DOES do cycled recording, deleting over earlier recordings once the card is full. Would be useful for potential accident evidence.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgtTg62GDfs

i just bought the gopro hero naked. seemed like the best choice since i will be able to use it for other hobbies.

For making movies about your epic driving, GoProFor accident evidence/theft deterrence, they make cameras that continuously record in over the old footage when they run out of space, some of them record inside AND outside of the truck by having two video streams, GPS, and some of them are concealable. But the affordable versions are in fact made by some noname Chinese companies (which doesnt necessarily mean they dont work)http://www.proofpronto.com/720p-hd-dashcam-dashboard-camera.htmlhttp://www.cgets.com/Dashboard-Traffic-Safety-Camera.html?utm_source=google-shopping&utm_medium=organic&gclid=CMjm6ojs7KkCFYaD5Qod11bbawhttp://cgi.ebay.com/Dual-Dashboard-Camera-Drive-Accident-Taxi-Car-Gost-Cam-/130452332471 - dual stream
