get new tire(s) installed

get car aligned

put your knee against the tire and push in or rock the car side to side, feeling for movement of the tire, side to side, between the top of the tire sidewall and fender arch (not always apparent on newer subies)

also, your axle nut may have loosened, check that it's torqued correctly and staked in place

Yeah i tried to rock it and i didn't feel anything... i'm just goint to change the WB and have it aligned... that should take care of it.. and get a new set of 4

I'll be getting stiffer suspension soon anyway.

change the tires and get an alignment first

then, if you can hear it roaring or metal to metal scraping, do the wheel bearing

also, you can look at the inside seal, near the axle to see if grease has escaped

From being in the car it definitely needs A wheel bearing, hopefully its that one since you're already swapping it.

boss hoss,

thats some serious wear. it aint no wear from a "wheel bearing going out". this been out for a loooong time, or your alignment has been off for a looooong time.

youre not going to get that kind of un even wear in in no time, unless you drive the miles.

plus im sure you'd notice if a wheel bearing is going out.

the new Subies have multiple bearing hub assemblies as I'm sure you're aware... so they don't just fail completely and woble like hell like most do. You have to remember... my other cars were all jeeps with mud terrains... for a while i thought it was just tire noise... its been going on for months... however... it went from being bald on the inside to chords showing in 1 day... how do i know this?? well lets just say i frigging check these things when i wash the car or change the oil i always do a "status report" i did one on Friday. That and my soon to be father in law drove it around a makeshift autox course we made for a while. However, i did put 28k miles on the car since august of last year and its been doing this since jan i just couldn't tell which one it was until it was this obvious.

That being said changed the wheel bearing and the tire doesn't even touch the ground now on the chords so i do believe that was what was causing that much negative camber.
