I've never really understood vodka. It doesn't seem to taste like anything. But my old lady loves Kettle One

In Russia, Russian Standard was drank by everybody and I thought it was pretty good. I've recently started seeing commercials for it although I haven't seen it for sale anywhere around here. I also tried a top-shelf called Beluga that was the best vodka I've ever had.On this side of the world I drink Ketel One. If I'm feeling Polish, Sobieski is just fine with me too.

So what is it that makes a good vodka? You can't really taste it?This is a genuine question. I can understand how people can be a connoisseur of drinks like scotch because there are different and intricate flavors but I don't really get it with vodka.

If you mix it, why go top shelf? And don't say hang overs, because thats some bullshit.

I also prefer my vodka infused with juniper berries and other delicious botanical varieties, but if sticking to the question...Best:1. Chopin2. Tito's3. Ketel OneBudget:1. Luksusowa2. SvedkaI like potato vodkas because they have a more oily mouth feel and come across more substantial. Though I really do find gin FAR more appealing for martini cocktails and tonics. By the way, it drives me crazy how the gin selection keeps dropping more and more at ABC. I mean there really are just like 5 decent options.
