Have some fancy clothes that need dry cleaning. In particular I need a place that's good at stain removal and won't destroy my clothes in the process.

Don't need recommendations but wanted to ask some general questions about dry cleaning prices and didn't want to start a new thread.I feel like my dry cleaners are raping me on my fiancee's dresses. I dropped off two of her dresses yesterday and it was around $20 (about $10 per dress). Then I picked them up this morning and she said she had to re-classify one as a cocktail dress (it was...so no argument there)...and it doubled the price for that dress to $20. So it was $30 total. Meanwhile, I had two dress shirts dry cleaned for about $4 total.Women's clothes always this expensive to have dry cleaned? I could have about 6 or 7 suits dry cleaned for the same price as two of her dresses.[Edited on September 27, 2013 at 1:29 PM. Reason : .]

Sounds about right for dresses. Sounds like you're just getting a really good deal on your suits.

What's the going rate for pressed dress shirts with medium starch in Raleigh these days?I pay $2.25 a shirt, but I feel like I'm getting ripped off.

My dry cleaner in Preston ($2.37 Dry Cleaners) at 951 High House Rd is the shit. Shirts can be laundered and pressed for $0.99 and regular dry cleaning is around $2.37/garment. I take about 20 shirts there once a month and am always happy.
