Holy shit, I wasn't even sure this guy spoke English (because I knew nothing about him) and then caught footage of him testifying before Congress to standing ovation.I have never seen the PM of another country come into our legislative chambers and be greeted with standing ovation as though he were one of our own. This is very good for Israel.

I’ve never fully grasped our Israel fetish.
5/24/2011 10:29:10 PM
Yeah, not a good day for the Admin. It took balls for him to do that, and it was a great speech. Good to see a leader make a speech with some actual facts instead of platitudes. He never once said they wanted to "win the future".

fuckers in congress love israel more than america. They also boo our president and worship net@yahoo.com

He's a war criminal, right?http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/01/15/israel-shells-un-headquar_n_158078.html

Yeah but he's our pet war criminal.[Edited on May 25, 2011 at 1:16 AM. Reason : Okay, maybe we have a zoo.]

1) Motherfucker speaks English just fine.2) We've had foreign PM's speak before congress before. Tony Blair spoke in front of a joint session, I know, and he was well-received.3) With any luck Israel is against the ropes. I've said for a while now that some POTUS needs to remind them where the purse strings are held, and that their continued prosperity is contingent on our good will. I hope Barack pulls those strings tight until Netanyahu (or whoever) shuts up and plays nice.

He's as much of a war criminal as Obama is
5/25/2011 9:21:04 AM
I tried watching Netanyahu's speech, but I couldn't get through the whole thing. It was just sickening to see congress suck so much jew-dong. If Obama stands his ground, I will have vastly more respect for him.[Edited on May 25, 2011 at 9:43 AM. Reason : .]

And yet, he is 10x more preferrable to Netanyahu.

It's not surprising that you blame the United States, and not the beheaders and suicide bombers who demanded Iraq remain a warzone long after it needed to be.

^^How many people do you think terrorists kill per year? According to the DoD, it's only in the hundreds. (don't you work for the DoD?)
5/25/2011 11:19:32 AM
Hey, sometimes you have to break a few eggs kill a few innocent people to make an omelette protect economic/religiously-motivated interests.
5/25/2011 11:23:45 AM
^^ so you are saying that heavy-handed US (and Israeli) counter-terrorism measures have been very effective in foiling terrorist plots and protecting people from attacks?I agree.
5/25/2011 11:48:42 AM
^No. It's done the opposite, and even if it did reduce terrorist attacks, it would be completely unjust, because the amount of people the US has (or caused to be) killed or displaced has been far, far more than anything the terrorists are capable of.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_battles_and_other_violent_events_by_death_toll#Terrorist_attacksSort by year.

how is this relevantif you want to talk about iraq or whatever, do it in your own thread.

I'm responding to points made in this thread. Sorry if you feel it has gone off topic. Feel free to ignore and continue with the main discussion.

What an irrelevant response. I was referring to the sectarian thugs and foreign jihadis that insisted on keeping Iraq a war zone rather than the democratic and pluralistic society the US and its allies were trying to incubate. If you want to blame someone for the vast majority of civilian deaths and displacements, blame them, if you have a tincture of moral seriousness in you.
