i'm broke as a joke. keep it in mind.i was wondering if putting in too much oil would cause the motor to overheat. replaced the radiator 3 months ago...it started giving me trouble again a month ago...there must be a small leak on the bottom of the radiator. hoses seem tight, but there's some fluid on the bottom of the radiator sometimes...i catch it periodically when i'm filling up. i noticed my oil was wayyyyy low the otherday when a friend noticed my engine was clicking loud. i put a quart in and it didn't even show up on the stick so i emptied another in and now it's twice the length of the distance between the two diamonds..WTMFingF. the car seems to shimmy a little on the road. i'm fucking pissed off. bye.

I'm sorry man I'm not gonna read further than the first sentence. That being said, ill go $250 for it.

Stop expecting your vehicle to actually just run with little to no maintenance. to cah fucked bro
5/14/2011 12:26:37 AM
find out where that small leak is. make sure you don't over-tighten the bands holding the radiator hoses to the radiator; the end tanks will crack. make sure it's not the radiator hose that's leaking.if the "clicking" sound was actually an intermittent "squeak" then you might have big issues on your hands: basically an entire engine rebuild. the main bearings and rod bearings will squeak/squeal metal-to-metal when oil-starved. does it still click now?an extra quart of oil won't hurt things much but go ahead and drain it to the correct level.

remove cap from cold radiator.crack a raw egg into radiator.reinstall cap.drive for 30 minutes.enjoy fixed radiator.

There is a reason the new radiator is leaking. Its because the oil pressure is being released from the weakest point in the system because the head gasket is blown. YOU NOW HAVE TO SPEND THE MONEY TO FIX EVERYTHING THAT IS WRONG. Its not just a simple little fix.

i have heard sqeaks here and there. not often at all. 2 sqeaks in like 10k miles.

took it to a valvoline to have the oil drained. they said the radiator was fine. but they pulled off the oil cap and found some peanut butter--means there's possibly something happening with the heads, possibly a gasket. she cut off on me on the way home but i got her back to my apartment. starts, but i WONT take it out again til i figure it out. how much would a regasket job be?

Still 200 bux.
6/4/2011 11:49:35 PM
If you're lucky, you won't have a cracked head. Seriously, this is going to require some attention. The more you drive it like it is, the worse it's going to get...until you've done irreparable damage.
6/5/2011 10:00:38 AM
Dude, just google search Acura Legend and headgasket. The C32 engine in those cars are known for head gasket problems. A head gasket job on a DOHC V6 aint cheap. While in you in there, you might as well do a timing belt, water pump, AC\PS belts, valve cover gaskets, etc...... $1200-$2000ORYou could just swap in a JDM motor with low miles. And get the Type-II motor, it has more power.

just change the oil and drive the motherfucker till it dies.
6/6/2011 4:27:03 PM
Block sealer. Might get you by for a while. I've seen them hold for 100k miles, and seen them hold for 15 minutes. Your results may vary greatly. If I did this for you, you'd be signing a damage waiver releasing me from ALL engine failure liability. In front of a notary.
6/7/2011 11:51:49 AM
That's a lot of effort for an 8 dollar buck bottle of sealer

Random people may say they're reasonable but rarely are. I'm with on this one.
6/12/2011 1:06:18 PM
yup. it's bike time.head job got priced at about 550 with parts and labor.
7/11/2011 4:23:57 PM
thats really cheap for a DOHC V6. Does that include a timing belt job?
7/11/2011 5:01:31 PM
Well it would have too.
7/12/2011 1:38:29 AM
I'd laugh my ass off if someone redid heads on their car and re-used the old crusty timing belt and tensioners
7/12/2011 1:59:59 PM
Put some blue devil in that POS
7/12/2011 2:50:43 PM
you will be MUCH better off in the long run finding a rebuilt motor and having zx put it in for you.otherwise you're going to be chasing that thing with your wallet indefinitely. like a dutch dam with always a few more holes than little kids to plug them with.
7/12/2011 5:30:13 PM
Or for that matter, finding a good used junkyard pullout. I've put shit-tons of boneyard motors in cars. I've also put in a fair number of new engines and reman ones.
7/15/2011 11:20:58 AM
any Legend motor is going to have the same headgasket problem. Either rebuild or get a low mile jdm used one. And get the Type-II motor with more power.
7/15/2011 12:25:30 PM
or paint it and put a 3.2 type s motor in it
7/15/2011 1:29:40 PM
Legend huhI'll say.
7/15/2011 2:27:52 PM
yeah, no point pulling the same motor from a yard or off ebay. a 3.5 RL swap would be the shit, but that's way way way over budget.the gasket problem is common with the legends. this is my second. the first didn't have an issue with it though at least not before i sold it at 219K.idk. guy off craigslist said, 450 for all the labor, and I got to buy parts. I guess belts would be included in my parts inventory?
7/16/2011 9:57:14 AM
Its a 93 legend, it's not worth saving. Move on, there are many many other vehicles out there.
7/17/2011 3:46:53 PM
Craigslist is your friend right now. Put a listing up that you want to trade for a tauras or a lumina. Those cars are idiot proof when it comes to driving them and some nigger would love to own an "acura"
7/17/2011 8:50:33 PM
like an acura in the ghettoits a legend
7/19/2011 9:20:14 AM
Nailed it
7/19/2011 10:55:36 PM
i did get an offer for $700. just worried about getting another car for that price. i have a bit of a money-spending problem.
7/21/2011 4:06:06 PM
Trust me you can find an awesome volvo for that much. Take the 700 and run with it brother
