5/4/2011 11:47:15 PM
used to go to the Preakness at Pimlico, but since they got all strict on the "bringing in a cooler full of beer" rules, i stopped goingthat is all i have to add, because i don't know shit about horses or horse racing

5/5/2011 10:36:34 AM
a different girlfriend so you dont have to go to a fucking horse race
5/5/2011 10:37:38 AM
Exactly. Why go outside when you have Starcraft and WoW?
5/5/2011 10:41:46 AM
Went to the preakness last year and I had a blast. I just bet the trifectas and superfectas on each race...odds of winning were outrageous (and I didn't win any), but payouts were huge if you happened to get lucky and I only spent around 30 bucks betting the whole day.hopefully i'll make it to the derby one year.

Shackleford. 12-1 odds and has a name of the island that i camp on off of Morehead City/Atlantic Beach. (the island with wild horses). GO SHACK!
5/5/2011 11:56:04 AM
Shackleford is also the last name of the alias used by Dale Gribble, "Rusty Shackleford". Dale Gribble is one of my favorite characters of all time. So if i was a gambling man, which i am when i have money to do so, i would go all in on Shackleford.
5/5/2011 12:49:27 PM
Bet it all on Shackleford. He's ambidextrous, I mean amphibious.
5/5/2011 12:51:27 PM
Lemme look at the workouts and what not and I will get back to you on this.We have race horses ourselves so normally I am pretty decent at picking the winners, at least top 3.I do recommend you go for one outrageous odd bet at least once...you never know if you will win...but try to make it as cheap and as good of a possibility as possible.chances are you will win but its fun waiting to see when or if you will win.I'll know better by tomorrow.

Nihro and Dialed In are horses to watch. I'm aware that Uncle Mo is the favorite, but he doesn't have the distance. Arch Arch Arch won the Arkansas Derby, which Nihro lost by a neck. The Arkansas Derby is 1 1/8 mi. Nihro broke late, came on strong and lost by a neck. The Kentucky Derby is 1 1/4 mile the longest some of these horses have run. So Nihro with his late burst is looking good. It should be noted that last years derby winner Super Saver also lost the Arkansas Derby by a neck.Dialed In is another horse that seems to get that late burst and runs stronger as other horses begin to get tired. If you go back and look at workouts/previous races watch for horses who turn it on at the end.Arch Arch Arch also isn't to be discounted. Winner of the AD and has the 1st postion. I like a Trifecta Box bet with Arch Arch Arch, Dialed In and Nihro. Of course a $2 dollar bet on a long shot to win never hurts. This Derby is going to be a crap shoot most likely with the favorite only having 8-1 odds. Should be a big money day on betting, akin to the 2005 Jacomo year.[Edited on May 5, 2011 at 2:20 PM. Reason : currently work for Churchill Downs Corporate. Office is at the track.]
