my spacebar won't respond near its ends...I've had this laptop since Dec 2006, so it might be time for a new oneBUT i really like the 'mouse' buttons that sit below the trackpad...they aren't stiff to press like all the new laptops' buttons ive seen is a keyboard on a laptop easy to repair/replace?

Depends on the type of laptop, but in general, yes.

Depends on the model.Check your manufacturer website for the technicians manual or repair manual. If you're on a level where you feel comfortable assembling a computer from parts this should be easy/trivial. Most models you can find a replacement keyboard on eBay for ~$25

was looking around on dell.com building hypothetical laptops and saw thisi dont know much about solid state drives, but ... how is 256 GB "more storage space" than 750 GB?

They probably meant you'd have more storage space in your wallet after you pay $520 for a laptop drive.

that 250GB is a solid state drive. Those drives are VERY expensive because they have no moving parts and are much faster than traditional drives

i knew that much about solid state, the whole 256>750 thing is what caught my eye
