A bad idea or the worst idea? Can you disable this shit? In some fashion.

I was tearing my hair out for a bit trying to figure out why I was getting message saying a directory already existed and I could see it in file save dialog boxes but not when entering through the library. The fuck is this about Neon?

No, it seems like some kind of syncing issue.

I have a library I called Code...to this I added a higher level directory called Project of which contiained direcories called core and libraries. Under libraries at the time I added it were several other directories.


At some point, I added another directory to libraries. When I would use explorer and browse to this directory through the old school way C:\blah\blah\blah...I could see this newly added directory.

When I would browse to libraries by going through Library -> Code....I could not see this newly added directory.

Libraries are just a collection of symlinks to real directories.

probably just have your group by and sort options messed up. Turn on group by folder and you should see your two root library folders. There is no syncing with libraries. Or right click on the library and double check that you actually have two folders mapped to it.

Actually, the libraries are probably fine...but I'll guarantee you I had some wonky shit going on and it wasn't my doing. The directories are showing up just fine now, I did nothing different.

Ok, so the same type of problem that originally triggered this thread is happening again and it isn't related to libraries.

Is there some sort of administrative rights thing related to saving stuff in the Program Files (x86) directory (or any subdirectory)? It seems as thought this directory is set to read only requiring admin rights to override? I am able to save files to subfolders but when I view them from explorer I don't see them...view them from the application I used to create/save the file and I can see it.

So, maybe not libraries...but this behavior is very fucked up in my opinion. I'm sure one of you will blame this on user error or something of the sort, but this type of shit just simply didn't happen with XP.

And....I can't edit a .ini file residing in that directory, no reason given other than I don't (even as Administrator) have permission.

Ok, so Notepad isn't running with administrator privileges I guess.
