I'm still trying to figure out just what sort of case they made to pull off a stunt like this. Maybe their thinking is that even without labor support, Massachusetts is under no real threat of going red.

Maybe the MA Dems think that the interests of the people outweigh the interests of the union bosses?Or maybe they believe that, since Obamacare is going to take over all health care, the unions don't need the healthcare?

^ I think that's kind of what he (^^) is saying...maybe Massachusetts is "blue" enough that the Dems don't feel the need to slob union knob in order to keep their jobs, and felt empowered to vote based on practical considerations.(or maybe the opposite is true: maybe they felt they needed to move to the center before the next election cycle)
